So does Disney hold cabanas?

I was looking through the activities and all the cabanas are sold out, except 13 and 16 which are not listed as sold out or available. Does Disney hold these in case a concierge guest wants one? We aren't concierge but am wondering if this is the case when they would release them?

There is no #13 cabana. DCL only holds the HA cabana from being listed online, not sure if that is #16 or not. Since DCL started allowing concierge to reserve cabanas at 150 days, not sure if they still save one for onboard booking by concierge.

We were on the Dream last week and upgraded to concierge at port. I asked at the welcome reception in the concierge lounge whether it would be possible to get a cabana and was told that they had two available. I only asked out of curiosity -- we didn't really want to spend any more money at that point! The concierge host said to let her know quickly if we wanted one.

good to know on board may still be an option then, really hoping one will open up prior to as I'm sure we would choose the CC cabana over the $500 Atlantis passes would cost.

It's still 120 days for concierge.

Info about cabanas...?

Hi...can someone please tell me where to find info on renting cabanas? I'm looking on the DCL website/port excursions/Castaway Cay/Activities, and don't see anything.

I'd appreciate some info on what's included with the cabanas, how much, etc. We're traveling with my mom and mother-in-law who can't walk far so I was wondering if this would be a good option for us. It sounds like you rent by cabana #, so if you could tell me what # is close to the tram stop, that would be great.

Thanks!

On paper, yes. However Concierge is allowed to let the Concierge Hosts know precruise as far out as 150 days that they want a cabana. And, magically, concierge people seem to get first crack at the cabanas the second 120 days rolls around.

Ok, this is total news to me and we've actually stayed concierge since they started to book for us. What I do know for sure is that they will not take your request and load it into their calendar until you are PIF. We were PIF at 127 days, let the concierge know, and we did get our request. It was confirmed on the morning of our 119th day.

Same here! It's been a tough re-entry into real life, but looking at the photos and writing my TR are getting me through! We'll miss concierge in April, but I know we'll still have a great time.

There have been recent posts reporting that shore side has told them requests/reservations can be taken at 150 days. When this first started happening a firm date was not given, just that you had to be PIF. When someone called to complain that all the cabanas were gone at midnight 120 day mark they were eventually told that they had all been "reserved". The concierge inputs the requests from concierge guests as they call, telling them if a cabana is available or not when they request a number. For all intents and purposes, this indicates that it is simply a formality to wait until the 120 day mark at midnight to confirm these requests.

We had concierge on our last cruise. I did call and ask for them to reserve a cabana for us , but they don't reserve until they get into the office so they told me if it was really important that I should try to book one at midnight. They were all booked in 15 minutes. I called concierge when they opened and they had not started to work on my requests yet.

Exactly, this has only been in place 2-3 months at the most.

I think the cabanas should have to be PIF to reserve. I've heard people reserve them just to have the option to keep them or not and those who really want one (or need one for personal reasons ie medical) can have a better chance to get one!
