As the pp said, discounts are sometimes offered to Disney Visa holders a few days prior to the general public. Another advantage to the card is 6 months no interest when you book a package and put it on your card (0% does not apply to room only reservations).

Grandparents want to go and pay for a room?

I know that sounds facetious, but we stayed at AKL when my son was 2 with my ILs. We all fit in one room. We split costs.

The catch is that we have 4 children, who will be 12, 10, 7, and 3 at trip time. So we have to have 2 rooms Anyone know what is the most affordable way to do the GF? Thankfully we have a long time to save
I would suggest staying somewhere else and just eating dinner there and walking around. I thought the room was fairly small and pretty beat-up. It was rather noisy as well with all the boat horns, fireworks, etc. from the magic kingdom. The pool was nothing special.

You need space, which is very costly if you want to stay on property. There are less expensive options, like a value suite or a fort wilderness cabin.
