quick question...

Are you permitted to bring a surge protector on board (I have money riding on the answer)?

Thanks!

Surge protectors (power strips) are okay.

Extension cords are not.

There have been some random reports of surge protectors being confiscated but never enough details to figure out why it might have happened.

I had read that power strips were no longer allowed, is there an email address for dcl to send questions to for an official policy? Most power strips have a built in 15 amp breaker so I would think the risk of blowing stateroom circuits would be low. I've also heard stories of guest services loaning them out on request. So it seems like a lot of mixed information.

I am recently off the Wonder and there was a charge on my bill for $50 Extension Cord deposit - not mine, so I had them remove it, but clearly it looks like something you can loan onboard.

I have seen on other posts where you can borrow a DCL extension cord for a medical device (like a CPAP machine).

We were just on the Wonder and had ours confiscated without reason by security.

Did you get it back? What kind was it? How did they find it? Is their baggage and carry-on check seriously thorough for everyone?

We brought an iron once and had a note in our luggage where we could pick it up after the cruise.

We got a ticket to claim it so we got it back. It was in our checked bags on top of everything. I don't know how they found it, but they obviously scan everything.
