San Diego weekend get away just booked

Yeah! Family is super excited to go especially the kids. My wife and I have been on a cruise before and actually went on a cruise for our honeymoon but nobody in the family has been on a DCL and so we're super excited to go. We're going with my parents and mother-in-law.

Now that we booked the cruise, I'm hoping that my fellow cruisers can offer some input and advice. While booking the cruise through Costco, it only offered us second seating for dinner which is fine with us but is there a way for us to request to sit together at the same table?

When we booked the rooms, we were able to get 2 room next to each other but I noticed when viewing the types of rooms available, it said that our selection on rooms may have either a queen bed or two twin beds. Is there a way to request for the twin beds?

As far as the upper level bed that requires a ladder for the child to climb into, I asked a question in another post about the railing. How do I go about actually asking for the extended railing?

Is this something that I'm able to do after final payment is made while registering or whatever it was that they said I had to do 3 days prior to sailing or is this something that I call Costco Travel to speak to someone and make the request with them?

Also, if I want to make a reservation at one of the nice restaurants that is pay out of your pocket, how do I do that?

Sorry for the many questions but again, I'm a noob when it comes to sailing with DCL and it's been a while since my wife and I went on our honeymoon cruise.

Hi there .. Just ask your TA to put you on the same dining table, although if you're reservations were made together or linked, it'll be done anyway. Always amazes me how a non DCL specialist TA does, not impart this info to their customers when they book.
For the twin bed situation, exactly the same, although most of the beds on the Dream and Fantasy do not split unfortunately. Once the Magic is done with her refurb, she'll be the same, so it only leaves the Wonder with split beds .. Sad.

Once onboard, just ask your lovely stateroom host for anything you need in the room, they will ensure its done ready for bedtime.

Lastly, for the adult only restaurants of Palo or Remy, as a newbie cruiser, you can book them online at 75 days out. If there is no availability online, go and ask if they have a reservation once you board as they hold a certain amount free for that purpose. Once you board, the welcome CM will be able to tell you where to go to do that. I would say though that if you do a dinner in one of the adult only restaurants, you are missing out on the MDR (Main Dining Room) experience and depending on what ship you're on, you could be missing a fantastic show within the MDR.

Have a fantastic trip.

Good point. Thanks for pointing that out. Do you know then if the pay restaurant offers lunch or is it just dinner?

As far as the first bit of information you provided, sorry I didn't clarify when I said I booked it with Costco. I booked the trip online through Costco so maybe I'll just need to call them this morning to have them link the reservations and make the bed requests.
