It's not being "descriptive." It's singling out a group of people who are "different" from the OP and underscoring their bad behavior. It's terrible stereotyping.

Glad to see there are more people with brains on this thread than not. This is why people hate america-we hate anyone who doesn't speak "our language" and we're disgusted when women feed their babies the healthy way in public. Hide that sex toy in a bathroom stall, ladies!! So embarrassing. To the "foreigners" reading this, please know we are not all like the rest of them.

For the record, my pet peeve is when people insist on breathing down my neck in line. Back off.

OP never said ALL foreigners are guilty of this, nor did they say ONLY foreigners are guilty of this. Step down from your soapbox. Every time someone tries to change the subject back to the original topic, someone else steps in with OMG YOU ARE SO INSENSITIVE. It's a Disney board. Chill.

It's not a bad thing to be a foreigner. The vast majority of americans speak english. There are pockets here and there where that's not true, but as a generalization it holds. They bothered her in particular because of the assumption that they were bored because they didn't understand so they used the time to chat and catch up.

"Foreigner" is not a pejorative - around these parts, anyways.

Sorry I offended you. The OP said her pet peeve was foreigners not shutting up during attractions you need to be listening to. She didn't say it about anyone else, she singled out a single group of people.

Because that description, all gay or all black, would not have been relevant to the story...the fact that they were speaking another language was...maybe loud English speaking does not bother her or maybe it does, she does not say...but in the example she gave, it was the loud FOREIGN language speaking that made it hard to focus.

I love my mom but she does stuff like that all the time, add descriptions that are not relevant to the story and when necessary I call her on it...She once went on this long story complaining about this Jewish woman who did something blah blah...I asked her what did her being Jewish have to with it, there was nothing religious about the story...she got mad, saying it was just a description...I said I did not need to know the faith of the woman to know that she was annoyed by her.

I do not see where the OP added a detail that was not relevant to the story. Like I said I can drown out English, I have a harder time drowning out another language

Because someone doesn't like foreigners who talk loud does NOT mean only foreigners talk loud OR they don't like all foreigners.

This one always makes me scratch me head. Do you expect a family of 6 to just stand there waiting for the one/two people getting the food to be ready? We always split up, go get a table and go get the food groups, especially when the kids were little. I just can't think its better to have little kids standing around than sitting at a table waiting. Whatever, guess Im doing it wrong

Well, if you ever visit a different country, I think you'll be glad that most signs and people translate to English. Don't think you'd be complaining that they aren't translated to Swedish or Russian. For people from the US who have more accessibility and help in foreign countries than any other language, this frame of thought is baffling to me. Its Disney WORLD!!! To not appreciate the benefit of the announcements in different languages is baffling.

And just a note, this is Florida, visited by more Spanish speaking people than most. Spanish is also spoken by more countries in the WORLD than any other language, so yeah, it makes sense.

And to call spanish speaking folks in Florida foreigners is funny.

There was a young couple with two children that offered us their table as they were leaving and we were grateful. And, in turn, after we popped the final bite of food into our mouths we immediately vacated the table so someone else could use it. I don't think it's right to just sit there and rest and relax, after you're finished eating, and take the table away from others who have trays of food and are looking for a table. Go sit and relax on a bench somewhere else in the park.

Now, when it's not a peak time to eat lunch or dinner and the venue has plenty of open tables I don't mind seeing people sitting at some of them waiting for someone else to bring the food and join them.
there are 5 of us in our family, we aren't all going to go wait in line. We will find a table. Sorry.

Okay, I get the dialogue having to be translated, but when the characters burst forth in song, does that need to be translated too??? Come on, can't you just enjoy the music in another language??? And the daughter was about ten for crying out loud. I'm sure she has seen the movie a million times in Spanish.....she knows what the songs are about.

Sorry to get all worked up about this. I'm fine now.
It was just really annoying.
I disagree with you on this. The songs are the bulk of the show and need to be translated just as anything else. Missing part of songs is very frustrating no matter ow many times you have seen the movie.

Depending on how busy the parks are, Disney may not allow you that option.

I would totally abide by this. Understand. I was talking about walking up and getting a burger. All the tables available. I also will share the table. We just eat and run. But do clean up.

Sometimes those quick burger lines are hard for everyone to stand in line for.
