Getting change on board

My DH and I will be cruising on DCL for the first time in a couple of months. We are coming in from out of the country and US banks will be closed the day we come in for the cruise.

Does guest services make change for passengers? We want to make sure we have small bills to tip for room service and things of that nature. Thanks!

The ship works cashless. Guest services might be able to help however.

Since it cashless... order from the barbtip automatically added to bill and charged to room. Tips for hostess, steward, etc also charged to room. If it is for room service tip then yes cash is nice. Guest services can help you with that.

Yes, guest services can change larger bills for you. Also for room service, there is a little slip you can sign (even if all the food is free) that acknowledges that you received your order (if the server doesn't give it to you, ask -- they have it with them). You can put your room service tip on there and it will go on your room account. That way you don't need as many smaller bills.

Are you looking to exchange money from another currency your just break down larger US bills? If the latter yes, guest services and break larger bills. Do you plan on tipping the porters who take your bags....I ask only because they are tipped before you even get into the terminal or onboard so it would it help if you had a few smaller bills on you ahead of time.

Guest Services will also cash traveller's cheques for you--just make sure they are in U.S. funds.

If you have $20 bills, I'd suggest simply purchase a snack at the airport as soon as you depart. $50 or $100 bills might not be accepted however.

Ok, thanks. We would just be breaking down US bills, so we can get a little change at the airport for porters and then maybe ask guest services to break a 20 for us so we have it for room service.
