I know that, but they are not reloadable to my knowledge, thus requiring the pile of cards. A reloadable one eliminates that need.

we don't own CC's. Once on board I go and put about $300 for 4-day or $500 for 7-day on my account. I do it pretty much right after I eat lunch on the first day. And then, on the last night after I am though with all tipos and purchases, I go back to guest services and get what is remaining (if anything, lol)

Interestingly, I just took a post-cruise survey that asked if I would ever use an on-board ATM. So it's on DCL's radar, I guess.

You don't need to do that. For a 7-day cruise, if you state at check-in that you will settle in cash, they will give you a $500 credit line. Then you can settle it with cash at the end of the cruise and save the initial trip to Guest Services.

Does anyone know if they accept international prepaid credit/debit cards too? we are travelling from the UK and would prefer this instead of carrying cash.

Thanks!

I know. It's just that guest service has no one at the counter the first day. And, I have little to do between boarding the ship and the muster at 3:45. Just something to do besides start the feeding frenzy!

How can you travel today without a credit card? In Seattle there are many places that refuse to take cash. Its credit/debit card only.

We put a CC on file, but always switch our charges to the debit card at the end of the cruise.

I was thinking of doing a pre paid cc too, but wondering if they work well in port (St. Thomas and St. Martin)

Beats me... To me it's a must. And I haven't carry a balance ever, other than the 6 months no finance the Disney Visa Rewards gives me.

How do you pay for things at the airport and on the airplane? Our airline in Seattle (Alaska) stopped taking cash several years ago.

So, these places accept credit cards, but no debit cards?

They'll take debit cards, just no paper cash. Most US airlines do this now.
