Subbing out Dessert

I heard that you could sub out the dessert at like counter service restaurants for other things like grapes or water, is that true? what are the options?

I know that when we get meals from the Foodcourt at our resort, we always get a bowl of grapes or fruit salad substituted for dessert.

I do it at both DLR, and WDW. You can get fruit or veggies or water.
I have never had anyone ask why.

depending on the CS location, I have had apple slices, grapes, and carrot /celery sticks. I know there are a few other things.

Most of the counter service places will let you swap out the dessert part of the CS meal for some type of fruit or a bottle of water. I've also been able to get a bag of chips (it was a resort food court, but I don't remember which). You have to ask at each place what your options are and it will vary from location-to-location and possibly from CM-to-CM. The third party venues (like the ones at DTD) are more strict about the DDP entitlements so those places might not have as many options.

Substitutions will vary from place to place so you'll have to ask at each venue. Most common are a bottle of water or a side from the kid's menu (e.g. grapes, fruit slices, carrot/veggie sticks).

Ya a bottle of water would be great for a sub, I hope I can do that

I dont eat desert with many CS and it would save the price of having to buy water, then just wasting the desert I would not eat
