What do you do the first few hours?

When you first arrive onboard, what are your favorite things to do before the Sail Away Party? When is the best time to register your children at the Kids Club---before or after the Party/Drill?

We always register the kids online with online checkin so we don't have to spend those first few hours in line. We love to go to the top deck and just relax for a while before grabbing lunch.

We love the calm and quiet of that right after the hectic boarding. Gets the holiday truly started.

We head right to the pool! DS was the first one in the pool on our last cruise and had it to himself for awhile. I figure there is always food available onboard but rarely an empty pool

Lunch in whichever MDR is open. Open house at the Oceaneer Club and Lab. Check with Guest Services to book tastings, etc. Ping pong. Basketball. Unpack. Check our adult dining reservation. Book a pedicure through the spa. Walking ship tour. Swim. Mickey Slide (kids not me). Midship Detective Agency on Dream class ships.
We register our kids before boarding in the terminal.
ETA- Shuffleboard! Kids favorite and makes it feel like we're really on a cruise.

Do you board in your swimsuits then or change once onboard?

We go to guest services to book anything we might need to and add giftcards to my account. Then we go to eat at the buffet. After that we head up to kids club to get their bands and I o to the spa for the raffle. Then before sail away I get a good spot and make sure that I have a nice cold drink to officially start my vacation =)

We wore our swim suits onboard. (Under cover ups, of course ) We headed right to Aqua Duck and waited about five minutes for it to open, swam in an empty pool and then went into Cabanas to eat. Our cabin was ready then so we unpacked, changed and went to the muster drill.
DS was pre registered for the club, so after the muster drill we walked him over there and he got his band.

Our DDs wear their swimsuits under shorts & tee shirts. Makes it a lot quicker to hit the pool or the Aqua Duck.

After our room is ready we drop off the carry-on bags, and put the Diet Dr. Pepper in the fridge. Then DH gets "acquainted" with the seagulls near our verandah, feeding them the Mickey head cheddar crackers included in the Castaway Cay backpack.

Have lunch, wander the ship, peak in the stores' windows to get a preview of the merchandise, unpack if our luggage has arrived.
