Yikes, that is a crowded bus. At least it's first thing in the morning while people (hopefully) smell reasonably fresh. Much worse on the drive home.

Thank you!!!! I too prefer the old MK sign. But yes... it's still pretty.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I mean I know where it's headed... but still.
Wow, that sounds so harsh now. No shame for anyone... I should just say that you would have missed out on the back story for the reveal.

Speaking of watching Disney "open" for the day... I have a great photo of Mayor Weaver heading to the train station for the park open. (This is not my photo, it was shared with me by a Disney CM pal.)

Great observation Rob. I would much prefer the fresher smelling guests to lift an arm near me.

Make it pink! Make it blue! Just don't make it yellow. There I said it again!

And I know that you will patiently await the next update.....

That's the only thing I don't like about the Epcot Resorts...the buses. They are just awful. I agree with you MORE BUSES!!!!!

Great picture with the Mayor.
Thanks Kathy! That was a dress I got at Tren-D at DTD while Em was sporting her Snow White tee...had we known, we may have opted for a Cinderella motif.

ha ha!!! Sleeping Beauty... that's perfect!!

Exactly! I say banish the Swalphin hotels and let them fend for themselves! (Until I opt to stay at one of those resort and then I will do a 180 on that opinion.)

Thanks! The Mayor looks great for 80!

Hi Annie! Thank you. I love the early morning for the peace and quiet and of course being able to watch the sunrise.

I agree, YC/BC hit a home run with that pool. A sandy bottom pool, lazy river, pirate ship and slide, water volleyball area, and more.. it has it all.

Judy you are ALWAYS so thoughtful. Thank you for the kind greeting.

Sending you and your lovely family New Year greetings as well.

Mr. Dean is completely awesome... can't wait to share more.

Thank you again for taking time to come by and show some love. It is always appreciated more than you know.

Dean's book is on my wish list, it's something I want to purchase for myself some day - it looks so incredible! I just wish he took Paypal... Sigh.

I hope you have a wonderful New YEars Brenda and Em!

D~
Hi D~! Happy New Year to you too.

I'm happy to share how it came about. It really was a kind person doing a very generous thing.

I think you'd enjoy the book as well. I just sent you a PM.

Thanks for the shout out on the running on vacation. Denny used to yell at me when we did the family vacation thing. He would say, "you complain how much your legs hurt and how tired you are and then you go out and run". Yup. He's stopped doing that and now he just tunes me out.

I had to laugh at the picture on the bus. Nicely done! I like your covert photography skills. Those are exactly the expressions everyone has on the bus.

And I didn't know you were personal friends with the mayor. Nice! And nothing like a photo on an empty Main Street!
Hi Mary Ellen! There's not a lot to do that early in the morning UNLESS I got my butt out the door with my running shoes. But I didn't so I picked up my camera instead. You were at the top of my list when I think of people who run on vacation.

And yes, the demeanor on the bus rides is rather like... 'when are we going to get there?'

I would say that Mayor Weaver remembers red-heads so that is what started our acquaintance.

I used to be one of those runners out there on the Boardwalk. It was the most wonderful experience, with the soft, humid air and the quiet of the morning. I'm hoping I can get out there during our upcoming trip at the BC in March. If the ice and snow would melt around our neighborhood, I might be able to get back in shape for it.
Hi there and Happy New Year to you too! We had a low-key celebration that didn't involve any party poppers or champagne! However, it did include a favorite Mexican restaurant, ONE margarita, and watching a movie with my DH and Em. Em made cupcakes so our midnight revelry included those and some sparkling cider.

Oh man! You are putting me to shame if you get out there before the winter thaw! I thought about running this morning to start the new year off right but then just rolled back over in bed.

The Epcot resort area is a fantastic area place to jog! Like I would know.

Phew, glad the MB crisis was averted.

What an amazing Illuminations view!! A friend of mine swears by Rose & Crown for Illuminations viewing but La Hacienda looks great. Who am I kidding, any restaurant with Illuminations viewing is good by me.

Love that view of the Boardwalk all lit up!

Ooh, double deckers sound like a good idea to me. When POR had to share a bus with POFQ it got VERY crowded so I can't imagine stopping at all the Epcot resorts.

THE ANTICIPATION! I did check out your dining review so I know what is coming but I am still excited to hear about it!

Hi Emma! That would have been so cool if we'd run into each other. I hope you enjoyed your time at WDW during the holidays.

I know things change at Disney but some changes I sure wish they'd run by me before they do them like that yellow/blue sign!

Thanks for hanging in there with the next update inching closer....

I cannot wait to read about the rest of this day!! Sounds so amazing!!

And yes, I promise to share my Animation Class drawing... hopefully it will be obvious what I drew. LOL.
Doesn't sound like retaliation at all but rather some excellent daddy/daughter bonding time. When you think about it, you are your daddy's little princess and the story featured a daddy/daughter story as well. I'm sure your dad will remember that time fondly.

Thanks, I'm excited to share.

And yes, please feel free to share your artwork.

Hi Lisa! I had to go edit my post since it said day 6 before - oops! But yes, an Enchanted end to the day was perfect.

Thanks and I'm eager to share with you as well.

I am going to attempt to run on this vacation though. No crazy oppressive heat this time around!

Awww, you're Mayor Weaver's favorite redhead.
Hi Danielle! Just because I'm a morning person doesn't mean I don't appreciate those who are able to sleep past 7am. I wish I could. Especially the nights that I don't hit the hay until after 1am.

You have my extreme admiration if you run on vacation.

I'm also a "when I'm up, I'm up" person. Something about the quiet stillness of Disney in the morning. When we were there last December I was pregnant and a very restless sleeper, so I'd get up and walk to the POR Riverside Mill... It was wonderful!!

Can't wait to read more!
Hi there sunnysideup! I don't mean to kill anyone with anticipation! However, I'm so glad that you are following along. Yes, Mayor Weaver is 'handsy' - nice way of putting it. I have a collection from past Mayor encounters... like this one. He's a cad!

According to your ticker you are days away from a Disney cruise! How exciting. I hope you have a great time.

Hi Courtney!
You'll be glad to know that we had no further MB issues on this trip... that I can recall.

I think I will agree with your friend. When we did the Illuminations cruise the boats "anchor" near R&C and it is a fabulous location. If the boats choose there then you can bet it's good. But La Hacienda and I would imagine Spice Road Table would be a very good spot as well. So now I agree with you too.

Boardwalk at night all lit up is so lovely!

Those buses... yeah they pack 'em in! I don't mind having to stand but they need some more handles to hold on to since the strappy things that hang down are a little too tall for me being short and all.

I hope you are enjoying your New Year's Day!!

Perfect ending to an evening.
They have the double length buses but not double deckers.

Hi Scott! And everyone else is glad I didn't either!

Definitely, a great end to the day.

I've heard about the extra longs but I don't recall seeing them. Maybe they didn't have them last month?? I read things and forget rather quickly anyway .... I'm a bit like Dory I guess.

No problem, I can post a cliffhanger any time.

Great start to the morning for what promises to be an even greater day!

The last couple of mornings you were awakened by the landscapers so now you were conditioned to wake up early on your own.

I have to say I love predawn solo balcony time. Coffee. Camera. Beautiful View. Book (which rarely gets opened due to the lovely view). Gorgeous pictures of the BW and SAB.

That is just wrong about the buses making all those stops in the morning. We haven't encountered that during our trips in July.

What a cute entrance picture with Em. I love your photo with the Mayor.

I can't remember, have you also gotten a little extra "friendliness" from any of the characters? One of my best friends, who like you, is also a stunning red-head, was given a non-family-friendly squeeze by Baloo at MK.

Maybe I should consider coloring my hair.
