I get that this is supposed to be a carnival themed dinosaur play area but it just seems a bit cheesy. (While Gertie the dino at DHS’s Echo Lake is definitely NOT cheesy!) The ride itself reminded me of Goofy’s Flight School (renamed from Mulhulland Madness at DCA) however, when it started to spin, whoa!!! Hold on to your possessions and your kids. We safely made it back to the present time; however I renamed this the Primeval Hurl! Oh my! Not sure how we missed this ride all these years but we successfully marked a second item off our Must Do list – Ride any Dino-Rama ride at AK. (I had to correct my Must Do list.)

Somehow, I fell 3 updates behind. In my subscribed threads, yours didn't show up highlighted so I didn't realize you had been updating. All this time I thought you were too busy on your conference! So sorry!!!

And OMG!!!! Your Primevil Hurl comments cracked me up. In 2008, we were in WDW with my niece and her DH. He gets motion sickness and wasn't sure he wanted to ride. The year before (2007) the kids and I had done Mulholland Madness at DCA. I thought the two rides were the same and couldn't understand why there was a height restriction at WDW that wasn't at DCA. But I assured him that the ride was no big deal. Holy twirling Batman!!! The adults got off and were and the kids wanted to go again. We all sat on a bench and watched the kids go around again.
Loved all the updates. And for a DisMeet in DL. The friends we had that lived in So CA moved (to Reno) , so our CA resort home is no more. We miss them, too!

Loved this update and all your Photopass pictures with your daughter! Those are really great!

The look of Primeval Whirl reminds me of a ride that was in Hershey Park called "The Mouse" (I think), which I rode once many years ago with my grandfather and it was dreadful (It's not even there anymore)...It was much too jerky and just threw us around! That one didn't spin, but I can only think Primeval would be worse because of the added spinning. Did you think it was jerky along with the spinning? Or have I skipped it all these years thinking it would be and in fact it's not? May need to try it next trip if it turns out to be a relatively smooth, albeit twirly, ride...

I agree with you about EE. Disney did a really great job designing it and throwing in those unexpected parts...like going backwards! It makes for such a fun ride!

Wow! Three rides on Dinosaur! That's awesome! And very nice ride photos, too!

Never been to Yak and Yeti, but may go once just so I can try that dessert...every time I see a picture of it, I'm reminded why this restaurant needs to be on our must do list for next trip!

Beautiful pictures in front of EE. I'm sure you and Em get told this all the time, but you look like you could be sisters.

I agree the Dino-rama theming is awful. Our guide explained why it was purposely done to look cheap and cheesy, but it didn't help me warm up to it. It looks so out of place!

Despite my better judgment I am off to go read your dining review. Everytime I read one of your reviews I start to look into changing my ADRs.

I'm not a big fan of Dino-Rama, but I want that T-shirt! That's hilarious!

They teased you with the cream cheese. They were probably out of bagels. The rest of the breakfast looked pretty good, though.

I love Expedition Everest. Cute ride photos, also!

Your dinosaur pictures are too funny! I like that you can tell in the pictures who is riding it for the first time by their reactions.

Christine
I didn't see that the vehicle spins before we boarded so the first time that it gave a whirl I was a little scared. Good thing you held it together for the little girls sake!

Your comment regarding first time riders made me wonder what we looked like the first time. I actually have our first photo from 2010. I remember being surprised but it's funny that my reaction doesn't necessarily match that. Em did look a little alarmed!

My family and I won a contest and we were lucky enough to stay in Cinderella's Castle Suite a couple weeks ago. I'm curious to see how you were able to tour it and what you thought about it. Can't wait to hear more!
Hi littlenellbell! Welcome to my TR!! I'm so glad that you are out of lurkdom!! Thank you for the kind comment.

Oh my GOSH!!!! Do you have a TR so I can read about your experience? I have a thousand questions.... how, when, what was it like, did you cry??? WOW!!! That is seriously amazing!!

http://land.allears.net/blogs/jacksp..._dinorama.html

My only experience with Primeval Whirl as when my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter got tired of riding the kiddie rides and wanted to go on it last February. When I told her that she was too short, she had a major meltdown. Her signature move is to melt to the ground, like a limp marionette, when she doesn't get her way. Luckily, the rest of the family had just finished riding the Dinosaur ride and Mommy helped me pick DGD off the pavement.

Actually, the meltdown was worth it since that meant that I didn't have to ride Priemval Hurl. I prefer to avoid rides that make me throw up.
Thanks for sharing the all ears link. Everything is about perspective and now I see that had I know the fun story behind the theming I may not have been so quick to judge! I agree, I need to go back and explore and see the story for myself.

Ah the old melting kid meltdown trick. I've seen that before! You go to pick them up and they slip through your hands they are so limp!! ha ha! That was my youngest son.

Yeah, I've crossed that ride off my list. I think I'm good now.

Those "picture frame" photos are a nice touch I think. At least it's something different.

Hmmm, Expedition Everest... I may have to try that one.

Hahaha, sadly it was actually only 7 in a row. , but was indeed 11 overall. But YAY another Shout Out!!!

I so love looking at ride photos. Whenever I leave a ride I always check out all that are on the screen. Some of the reactions are so priceless.
Hi Rob!! I can picture your tootsies in your Homer Simpson slippers. perfect!
Argh! Wish I knew how to edit that video... It was funny that Eddy made a huge assumption.

That picture frame with EE in the background, I totally thought of you since your TR was the very first where I had seen those with that background even.

Did I exaggerate your EE success? Ok, you went 7 times back-to-back but 10 or 11 total in the same day right? Still pretty epic I say!

Primevil Whirl doesn't bother me all that much; I do tend to only do it if the girls beg me to do it. It's certainly not something I want to do every trip.

Three times in a row for Dinosaur??? Wow...I can do two, but not three (and I tend to only do one now because Mark won't ride it).
Thanks Kathy! I can see me going a few trips before trying Primeval Whirl again. Maybe I'll try one of the TriceraTop Spin.

Dinosaur is a bit of a rough ride... gotta watch out for whiplash!

Hi Sandy! Thanks. I should have thought a second more about posting that since it is annoying. But thank you!!

I'm with you. I love Y&Y. I forgot that you can get the egg rolls next door. Until they also serve the cream cheese wonton desert I'm sitting my butt down and having them serve me at the TS!

Thanks for hanging in there and reading!

Awesome that you got to go three times in a row! Laughing at the couple sitting next to you in the first picture who appears to be leaning into your personal space a tad too much.
Hi there Dave! Now that I've read the all ears article it makes me want to go back and explore with a fresh perspective. (see Wood nymph's post above.) However, I do love Dinosaur the ride too!!

I didn't notice those people leaning in. I should have asked them, "do I know you?" (Father of the Bride 2 reference)

Yeah for ride photos. I am totally looking forward to getting all the ride photos with my Photopass Plus. Mostly though I just can't wait to hit the rides. I am a roller-coaster junkie going through withdrawals.

Can't do Primeaval Whirl. Nothing that spins. My DS begged me to go on the Tilt-a-whirl with him this summer and I just kept repeating "don't throw up" over and over. I can ride the biggest, baddest roller coasters with no problem but get me on something that spins and it's all over.
Hi Gracer! Thanks, it was pretty good!

I'm a fan of roller coasters too! Most of the ride photos I would never buy but with PP+ you feel like you can't pass them up. Spinning is fine but up, down, and whipped around at the same time aren't so great for me.

The Safari breakfast actually looked fairly decent, I know that's apart of your DR, but I thought I'd include it here. You are a popular lady! You two sound a lot like me and Mackie, we make friends where ever we go. She says it's just me, but I think the fact I have a very pretty daughter, helps.

And I don't think your laugh at the end of your video is something to be embarrassed about, I love your laugh!!
It's genuine and to me there is no better sound than a true, genuine laugh. I think that's why people melt when they hear a baby's first laugh.

I have yet to eat at Y&Y, it's never really been on my radar, or Tusker House-breakfast for that matter. After hearing your review that sounds like a breakfast ADR worth doing. I'm pretty partial to Crystal Palace for a breakfast buffet, would you say one is better than the other?

Thanks! YAY! Less than two weeks before your trip. Hopefully you can score an ADR at Y&Y. If not perhaps a walk up.

Ha Ha! You probably thought that was a long conference!! No worries, glad you are caught up. That's better than I can say since I'm subscribed to your TR and I've yet to get completely caught up.

Definitely there was a "whoa, this thing spins" moment!! You put it perfectly with your "Holy twirling Batman!" comment. Pefect.

Ahhh sounds like you may have swapped DL for skiing and casinos.

Glad you are caught up!

HI and welcome back again TM! Thanks for the compliment!

The ride sure had a nice spin which goes clockwise and counter-clockwise and there are a few "whoop de doo's" at the end so it's not necessarily smooth!

Oh my goodness, if you eat at Y&Y those wontons are definitely calling to you!

Awww thanks Ashley. Ha ha! We only get told we look like sisters from people that haven't increased their prescription for their corrective lenses!

I'm going back to Dino-land to figure out that whole theming thing. Apparently I'm missing a lot of the story. I'm too quick to judge!!

ha ha! Isn't the that purpose of dining reviews - they make you change your mind.

Hi Camille - you slipped in there between replies so that only means one thing... you get your very own reply!! Lucky you!

Awww your Mackie is a very pretty girl but I think that you get a lot of the credit with your charm and friendliness!

You are too kind! I was being so silly and just got carried away with glee! I would rather hear a baby's first laugh though.

Y&Y is one of my favorite lunches - definitely my favorite TS at AK.

I definitely prefer Crystal Palace to Tusker House. Just too many choices at TH and no puffed French toast. And I love Tigger (my favorite fur character) whose at CP!! Although Piglet is pretty adorable as well.

I'm always glad to see you drop by. (even in the middle of the night your time!! )

The breakfast after your safari looks great (from both perspectives, here and the dining review!) Eddy sounds great, how awesome that you make such great friends wherever you go! (Loved the excitement in the video, including the laugh!)
Uuuugh, I am not a fan of Primeval Whirl. Primeval hurl is definitely more like it.
I adore the theming on EE, they really did do an amazing job on it.
Woohoo! Way to ride Dinosaur 3x in a row!
I have read about your yak &yeti meal and your dessert had me drooling! :D

CAUGHT UP!!! You go away for 3 days and it takes the same amount of time to catch up on everything! The main thing being Sleep!

I had a great time with you and Michael! A fabulous evening!! Can't wait to spend more time with you and Em in December!

I love your Photopass Pics from AK! I've been so undecided on getting Photopass+ for next week. I think I just need to bite the bullet and do it!

Aw, I like all of the pictures! So cute! Dinosaur 3 times in a row?! Wow! My brother rode that once & it broke down right by Mr. T. At random, the Dino roared & apparently scared the bejesus outta everyone.
