Counter service...your favorites?

We will be dining primarily on counter service food in the parks.

Which places are your favorites? Are their toppings bars at some of them?

Taste Pilot's Grill at DCA has a toppings bar. I think River Belle Terrace does too. As for unique counter service, I love Paradise Garden Grill, the Fried Green Tomato sandwich at Hungry Bear. The Lobster Roll is delicious but pricey (at that stand where near where the Columbia docks). I also like the Veggie Tater bake at Flos. Fried Chicken at Plaza Inn is pretty good too.

If you want a quiet getaway from the parks, then go to Whitewater Snacks in the GC. I have yet to go in there when its busy and they have some tasty items. I personally love their nachos! Its usually quiet in there and the CMs in there are always very friendly (I think because they are never as busy as the places inside the parks).

Plaza Inn is very good, as is Rancho del Zocalo and Hungry Bear has plenty of covered seating to get out of the sun.

Boardwalk Inn is very good at DCA.

I think counter service gets a bad rap for serving junk. While not all places are equal....there are some gems out there!

French Market - Kid's rice and chicken was a hit, stew in a breadbowl was awesome! Would be even better on a cool day.

Boardwalk pizza and pasta was ok.

Taste pilots grill was pretty good.

Plaza inn was good, but kids didn't like the greenbeans or potatoes for some reason.

Another vote for Earl of Sandwich. We also really like the soup in a bread bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA.

Family and I ate at Earls today. Super good and I gave recommendations based on what everyone suggested from previous posts.

We also ate at Tortilla Jo's restaurant which was super good. I know people have mixed reviews but it was super good.
