Hmmmm, can't see that happening unless they fence the beaches off and hand out passes to guests only.

They do have plans that fence the pool and they could possibly make it so you have to go thru that fence to get to the beach. They don't want July 4th to happen again

That's great. I hope they actually enforce it. It's not fair to paying guests to have to fight for a chair around the pool or the beach.

I get keeping pools off limits, as they have a set capacity. But if you start saying parts of certain resorts are off limits, you start down a slippery slope. What part of the boardwalk resorts should be off limits? Or the Animal Kingdom Lodge? No looking at the animals unless you are a guest? Should they wrist band all resorts around the holidays, and you must be staying there to visit?

The good thing about all those questions is that the owner of the property gets to answer them.

I don't believe that AKL gets the visitors that Poly, GF and CR gets. I've stayed at all 4 and there were plenty of times that we could just walk up to animal viewing areas when we stayed at AKL.

At Boardwalk again that's totally different that's made for lots of ppl it's why it has a couple bars and restaurants.

With the Poly and GF there beaches are somewhat small. I have never had an issue with ppl having dinner and walking down by the beach a little.. The pool hoppers or ppl that come to Poly just for the beach access to watch fireworks that bothers me when I just paid $5k for that privilege at THAT resort.
Otherwise why not pay $2K for my trip stay let's say at Pop and just go see the fireworks over at the Poly?

I think it's a rule not always enforced b/c Disney wants guests to come check out the resort so one day they'll book it, I get that heck our first dinner at Ohanas had my hubby hooked when we walked out back to the dock to grab boat back to MK!

Of course they do. But they also have to balance the need to have off limit space for certain guests with the want of having people check out other properties, in the hope of enticing them to stay there. Along with the need of not spending a ton of money and manpower to tell people "you are not allowed here", and then spending money and manpower trying to make those people less offended.

Which is why while the sign may be up, it is a rule rarely enforced. And how many people even know the sign is there? I've stayed at the Poly and never noticed it. It is pretty hard to enforce a rule that you barely mention.

I can't see them enforcing the beach rule at all!

How are they going to tell people that came to eat at Ohana that they can not go down to see the fireworks after?

We are staying at the Poly in October and the ONLY reason we are is because we walked from GF to Poly to get dinner one night and then walked out and watched the fireworks! We fell in love with the place,
If it wasn't for that I wouldn't have taken a 2nd look, if I only arrived to eat then went I wouldn't have seen how beautiful it was down by the pool!

That's odd, unless it's quite new, because when I was there in January for the later Spirit of Aloha show, the CMs were telling people leaving the early show to please feel free to stay, explore the resort, and see Wishes from the beach.
