CL and Animal Kingdom Lodge

Am I right in reading that the CL lounge is located on a floor other than the rooms. I've only stayed at Wilderness Lodge CL and we've been on the same floor. How big a pain is it to get to the lounge? We have two children (7, and turning 3 on our trip).

Yes, the lounge is located on a different floor from the rooms. I think there are some DVC rooms on the lounge floor, but I'm not sure. We haven't stayed AKL CL so I can't say from experience, but I have read that you can sometimes be pretty far from the lounge. Hopefully others with first hand experience can give more details.

You walk down your hall, get on an elevator, and go up two floors and VOILA there you are. Truthfully our room in AKL was closer to the lounge than our room in BWI.

It wasn't too bad! We were on the 4th floor and the club is on the 6th. Our room was about 2/3 the way down the hall. We just stopped in the lounge on the way to the parks and back. Our boys are older so they went down there a lot on their own.

You do have to take the elevator, but the walk was not bad. It's a great resort.
