Wonder is a 5 c $9020 (Aug 4)
Fantasy is 6b $7877 (Aug 2)
Magic no 7 days until Aug 16 5c $8383
I see your point, but there's no way they are NOT going to have a ship doing Caribbean cruises out of FL, and it's going to be the Fantasy while she's contractually obligated.

They may move the Fantasy after their contract is up at PC AND when there's a new ship to replace her. FL will always have the newest ships (because of the WDW proximity and specific DCL PC terminal) and DCL will always do Bahamian and Caribbean cruises (as does Carnival, Royal Caribbean, etc.).

I don't see why they can't have one of the original ships doing the 3/4 days Bahamas itineraries from PC while keeping one of the newer ships doing the 7-nighters (alternating between Eastern & Western), thus freeing up the other newer ship to sail from NYC or other locations.

The 3/4 night cruises are for the most part what a 1st time cruiser will take. DCL more than likely will keep the new big ship in Pt. Canaveral to impress that 1st timer with the hopes that they will rebook. The 3/4 night cruises are DCL's bread & butter. You have 2 sets of wallets on board each and every week.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that they do have the cruise out of NYC in 2015 again.
It's not necessarily cheaper from NY/NJ. In June 2009 we sailed RCCL's Explorer of the Seas out of Bayonne to Bermuda. That 5-nt cruise was almost $1k more for a tiny inside cabin than our 7-nt Thanksgiving cruise on the Magic with a window 6 months earlier.
We found multiple cruises out of FL that would have been cheaper to fly to FL and sail from there. It was our friend's big birthday celebration and he chose Bermuda so we went along with it but I wouldn't have booked it for just my family.

Just saying... Excluding FL from your choices may not save you $$$. Time yes, money maybe not.

There's a poster on CC that swears, gives several reasons as to why he's putting this out there that the Magic will do the Baltic again in '15. I'm not sure what he's saying about other routes just that the Magic will do the Baltic. I'd be interested in that but I'm not holding my breath. Too many people "know" too many people and like to get info. out there. We'll see. I'd be happy if it was true but..... I do remember reading that the Dream and Fantasy are involved in some contracts with Port C. for a few years and I think that will keep those ships from sailing out of other ports. It's up to the Magic and Wonder to do the wandering around. Happy sailing wherever your cruise leaves from/takes you to.

There are people who have "connections" (or because they "heard it from more than one source") who speculate as to various things that DCL will do before any official announcements are made. Sometimes they are right, sometimes, not so much.

I've found that many people with a lot of experience do know things that some of us "mere mortals" don't discern quite so quickly.

Time will tell.

Yes this. This person says that he deems it to be true because he heard it from three different CMs on 3 different occasions. It may or may not be true - as PrincessShmoo said, time will tell. I know Scott has scoured port calendars but there's nothing thus far (and he posts what he's got concrete info for vs rumor). Example: a source told him that DCL would be home porting in San Juan in 2014. He never posted it because he found no evidence to support it, but it became true. What I'm saying is that some rumors definitely come to fruition as truth; Could very well be like that for the Baltics (and it would be cool) among several other things.

I'll say this - I've probably heard from 10 different CMs in various positions over three different sailings on the Fantasy that there would be 2 new ships in 2015 & 2016 smaller than the Dream class but larger than the Fantasy. That rumor has swirled here, and also Inside the Magic host Ricky Brigante did an article on it. Do I believe it? Not really. Taken with a grain of salt. Is there some merit to it? Maybe; coincidentally thats when the Dream & Fantasy's contractual obligations at PC are up. And, if I used the logic above (heard from 3 different people at 3 different times), then I should take that info to be true I guess? Ummm, I don't think so (although I am forever a skeptic). I'd love to be wrong tho!!!

I'll believe it when I see it

ruadisneyfan2,
I TOTALLY AGREE!! I thought the 5 night cruise to Canada from NYC was really high! I believe it was $7,200 for Cat 4A 2a/3c. No insurance or transfers.

I thought they were during the summer. June and July. We had one plus a 2-nighter booked temporarily as a B2B.

Scratch that, upon looking at the CC thread it looks like it's the same source

Your talking about Disney here. I don't know what your "Price out" limit is, but given their history with Med / Baltic cruise pricing. You can bet they will ask for both of your arms, both of your legs, and demand a kidney as well.

I thought the Med prices were insanely cheap actually. The airfare to get there OTH is several months mortgage for me. Which is why I wanna cry every time they go because I want to go with them.

But i don't see the Fantasy or Dream leaving PC anytime soon.
