2015 cruise schedule - Why is Disney doing this to me?

Why are they doing this to me??????
I wish they would hint at the schedule.
Here is the problem.

My mother loves to cruise. She did all the time with my dad before he passed away. Now that he is gone she has me & my kids.

She paid for all of us to go on the cruise out of NYC in 2012.
She is ready to cruise again and got a great deal for explorer of the seas for 2014. She would skip it if she knew that Disney would be coming back to NYC in 2015. I told her I thought they would publish the 2015 dates soon but she doesn't want to miss out on the great deal if Disney is not going to leave from NYC in 2015.

WHY WHY WHY can't they just say if they are doing NYC in 2015 or not? WHY does it have to be a big secret?

She saves so much money per month and will only take me & my family on cruises from NY/NJ.

Why doesn't she book the cruise with the great deal and then when DCL comes out with the schedule, if they are returning to NY she can cancel the other one?

Sounds like excellent advise.

Don't expect 2015 dates for Magic/Wonder until the end of this year, beginning of next...

According to one blog they have only found port listings through May 2015 for the Magic and nothing for the Med or NYC yet. I was told the site couldn't be posted on the DIS, but I have seen many posting it since then. Lots of great information there.

Why does it have to be from NY/NJ? If she doesn't like to fly there's always the train.

Otherwise, I agree with pp who said to book the great deal and wait to see what DCL offers for 2015.

We try to leave from NY because we can get a ride there. We live on the border of NJ so we can spend more money on the cruise instead of plane/train tickets.

She is just trying to get the most for her money. Plus I have 2 small kids who do not like waiting (as most small kids don't) so we try to avoid the added plane/train ride.

Just keeping my fingers crossed that they do have the cruise out of NYC in 2015 again.

There is an article that says they are exploring the port of Quebec, so I wouldn't rule NYC out in 2015.

Given the ridiculous premiums they charged for last year's NYC sailings and (more importantly) the fact they were all still pretty much sold out at those prices.....I've been surprised they haven't displayed any real committment towards returning.

I Know it is reported that the Dream/Fantasy are contracted to sail from Port Canaveral for xx amount of sailings. Does anyone think that having the Magic sail from late 2014 on would free up the Fantasy to move to New York for the summer of 2015? For summer 2015 they could have the Wonder in Alaska, Magic in Europe, Fantasy in NYC and the Dream in PC.

Most of the cruise lines are putting a ship out of NYC , so there must be huge demand there and the fares are really high. I know the summer cruises sell well pretty much anywhere, but it also about building a client base that will fill the ships in off peak times, and I am sure putting a ship in NYC does that.

There's no way they will only have the Dream doing 3/4 night cruises out of PC and no other ship. They 'need' a ship out of FL to do Caribbean cruises. The Dream & Fantasy are their bread & butter ships. They charge (and get) a premium for them ESPECIALLY in the summer. I am a frequent DCL cruiser, and I was priced out of a Western Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy in Aug 2014, but there are lots of people who are still paying it. Plus, its super easy to get to PC from WDW; only a 60 min drive. That makes adding on a cruise super easy for WDW vacationers.

It's plausible to see ships dispersed more once their fleet expands, but I think they will always have 3/4 night Bahamian cruises out of PC and 7 night Eastern/Westerns out of PC (or Miami).

The Dream and Fantasy are under contract for three full years of sailings from Port Canaveral. Since her maiden sailing was in January of 2012, she would technically be free...

The Dream's MV was January 26, 2011 and the Fantasy's was March 31, 2012.

But they are getting those fares on all the ships in the summer, and I bet the on the board spending for excursions is way higher for Alaska and European cruises.

Looking at 2014 Aug for 7 day cruise 2 a/2 k balcony room

Wonder is a 5 c $9020 (Aug 4)
Fantasy is 6b $7877 (Aug 2)
Magic no 7 days until Aug 16 5c $8383

Oops you're right, I am sorry! She was LAUNCHED Jan 8, 2012 according to Wikipedia and her maiden voyage was March 31st. My reading comprehension is abysmal today...!
