linking military tickets

Has anyone been able to link military tickets to their MDE? Not talking about the salute tickets but ones purchased thru your local base.

I would like to know as well. I know that tickets purchased on base must be "activated" at the park ticket booths, but once they are activated there can they be linked into MDE because they are now in Disney's system?

Why would they need to be activated? I thought that was only for salute tickets. We can purchase the same tickets you can buy from Disney except you don't pay the taxes.

I was under the assumption that the tickets you get on base are not the ones that you will get to keep. That "activating" them, means only that they will trade you different tickets once you get to the park the first day.

As for why you would want to do this, you can use it to charge it to your room I believe and just overall make it an easier experience. We will be there the first week in September, so I can find out then. I would really have liked it to be different so we could possibly get in on the newer technology they are trying.

I guess I don't understand because our office said it took about 6 weeks to order the tickets. If those weren't the tickets you would keep why the wait? Shouldn't it be similar to undercover tourist??

If they are the Salute tickets, then yes, some MWRs wait till people request them and then order them from Disney. I was told it could take up to 10 days to get them. The MWR I went to had them on hand and said that they go ahead and order them in bulk ahead of time. What you get is a card that you have to take to get exchanged for one of the new RFID cards at Guest Services or a ticket window at the park. I don't think there would be a way to link the Salute pass you get from MWR to your MDE.

There are two different kinds of tickets and we have used both but it was before MDE. For the Salute tickets you do receive a voucher that then has to be exchanged. The other tickets are regular tickets sold at a slight discount and without tax if they are purchased on base. These are actual tickets and do not have to be exchanged.

hello, not really sure if your talking about the the 4 day ticket or a regular ticket, bought at a MWR, technically both kind should be able to be linked, but beware, I did just get back and had tried to link a 4 day salute, on my phone app, now it did say it was linked, but I could never really do anything with it, so next day I checked with Yacht club concierge, and after going back in forth with tech people, supposedly they got it correctly linked, but when we went into Epcot the next day, the ticket had been totally wiped so we had to wait for someone to take the ticket and my hubby(military member) to a computer to look up and see if they could find the transaction, we had bought it at shades the day before so luckily it did show and they reissued us a new ticket. so you may or may not have luck with this.

This has been my experience and my current understanding.
Our MWR has Salute tickets and limited `regular` Disney tickets on hand. Smaller MWR offices, or those who do not get a lot of WDW traffic do not keep them on hand and order them - I saw this in Cali and Hawaii(they had DL but only Salute for WDW).

Regular tickets should be the same as what you buy at WDW and should be linkable to MDE. The current word on Salute tix is they are not linkable yet. There is a website dedicated to Disney Military indo (google should find it) that has ben pretty factual with info re:tickets, discounts, et al. I have been keeping an eye on their info to see if the tix will become linkable to MDE.

I was referring to the regular tickets not salute ( stated in initial post).

I do follow the military blog but haven't seen any reference to linking regular tickets to MDE. I will go back and check. Thanks.

The regular discounted tickets sold at military bases are "live" tickets and ready for the turnstiles. They can be linked through MDE.

The special, deeply discounted, Armed Forces Salute are not live tickets and have to be activated at a Park Gate. They cannot be linked to MDE prior to activation.

Most ITTs/MWRs do not keep inventory on hand. they just order as needed.
