Restraunting During Special Events

I have a couple questions related to dining in the park during a few events:

1. We have reservations for the Fantasmic Dining Package, so we won't have to wait in line for the show. Is this still a good value? We are eating a late lunch at the H&V.

2. Related to the Fantasmic Dining Package: We are going on an EMH day, whereby the the EMHs are in the PM. According to the schedule, the Fantasmic show starts at 7:30 pm, which is the same start time for the EMH. Do they only let in resort guests to the show, since the EMH should not apply to them? How does that work?

3. And don't laugh too loud, but I have a similar situation with MNSSHP where I'd like to stay in the park longer by booking a 7 p.m. dining reservation (which is still available). Will they still allow me to eat at the restaurant if I don't have a MNSSHP ticket? (I understand that I'll have to leave the park afterwards, but if this is an "advantage" I can use, I'd like to use it. BYW...We are going to MNSSHP on another night, and I don't want to waste park time at a TS restaurant.)

4. What is the difference between the Rainforest Cafe in AK and DD? Is there a benefit to reserve one over the other?

5. Sy-Fi Restaurant dining -- It looks like those car tables can only fit up to 4 people at a time. Is that correct? Do they have any seating for groups larger than that?

Thanks for any answers you all can provide.

You cannot have an ADR in MK on a MNSSHP night after about 645 without having a party ticket. All adrs from 7 pm on require the party ticket.

As far as I can tell the difference between the two RFCs are location so choose whichever will be more convenient.

Sci Fi has car tables that fit two adults per row and the cars have three rows ( on the average) There are some non car tables but are usually for handicapped accessibility.

I'll do number 3. To eat at a TS restaurant at MK on a party night if not attending the party, your ADR has to be before 7pm. An ADR right at 7 pm will not work. To get the most of your day, try for a 6:45. Just be aware that when you are finished eating you might be escorted to the front of the park to leave.

It is open to everyone. Since the show starts at 7:30 pm, everyone should be either already seated or in line still entering at 7:30 pm. In most situations at WDW with attractions, as long as someone is in line before the closing time they will be allowed to ride.

It would be best to make this reservation about 10-15 minutes prior to the party start time. In the case of restaurant reservations on special ticket events, you are required to have a ticket to make reservations from the start time of the event. A 7 pm reservation would be during party time and require a party ticket.

One is at DTD and the other is just outside the entrance to AK. I think the one at AK serves breakfast. That is basically the only difference as far as I can tell.

The cars that face the screens at Sci-Fi are booth style that seat usually 2 per booth. The cars are mainly 2 or 3 rows of booths. There are also cars that use push in chairs that face each other with the screen to the side of everyone. The also have picnic tables. Depending on the size of your party, you might be split up amongst various cars.

Do not book any reservation for 7 PM or after on a party night if you are not attending the party. They will not seat you if you don't have party admission.

If you make, say a 6:45 reservation, you'll be seated, but when you finish your meal you will be escorted out of the park. Without the party wristbands you will not be allowed to use the shops, attractions or even the restrooms until you are outside the gates. As just a strategy to "stay in the park longer," this probably won't work.

4. Rainforest Cafe is a restaurant chain, so they're pretty much all the same. RC at AK is open for breakfast, but closes early. RC at DTD opens for lunch and stays open till late in th evening.

5. Most of the cars have 3 rows of bench seats. They hold 2 adults each. You might be able to squeeze 2 childen and one adult in one bench, but it would be tight. For parties larger than 6 you would have to be split up.

Not only does the reservation have to be before 7:00, you need to be sure you get to the restaurant to check in before 7:00.
