POR Room Request

Hi! My family is heading to disney at the end of april for the first time! We have a garden view room at port orleans riverside.
We will have a 1 year old, 3 year old and the lovely double stroller. Going back to the room is a must for us....for nap time. Can someone please tell me which room to request to be as close as possible to the bus stop to make our midday break as quickly as possible. Thanks for your help!

Preferred building is building 14 -- I stayed in there last time -- worth the extra money -- it is a 30 second walk from the RiverMill and maybe a 1 minute walk from the bus stop.

I totally agree. We stayed in Bldg 14 in December and it was worth every penny to book the Preferred room. Steps from the food court and about a minute to the bus stop. I've never stayed in a first floor room because I'm super-scared of the risk of snakes, but I would here because they have a couple steps up and aren't actually ground level. We requested a garden view or water view in the preferred category and got a lovely corner room overlooking the "bayou."

Preferred Location is different from, and more expensive than, Garden View.

Just request a room close to a bus stop. There are four of these at POR.

Make sure you request first floor. Much easier for strollers - especially in AB section where there is no elevator. I would also suggest a preferred room reservation. We were in 27 and found it to be very conveniently located.

I called today to price POR and the guy gave me prices for the preferred and garden view, and with my reservation, preferred was $161 more for the total price of the trip for staying 6 nights. So just something to think about.

I haven't ever stayed at this resort before, but my last trip stayed at CBR with a 3 and 1 year old. We had a car, so it didn't make a big difference, but had we not been there with a car, I definitely would want to stay as close as possible to the food court area and bus stop. It makes a difference with toddlers. If you don't think you'll use Riverside Mill much, like they said, you can be anywhere and get close to a bus stop if they have it available.

Very true -- but it isn't a lot more -- $25 per night, which at the end of a day of pushing a stroller might not seem so bad.
