Epcot Arrival Night Meal - Where to Eat?

We will be arriving mid-afternoon on our arrival day, probably around 3. I am coming with my family- DM (51), DF (50), and DB (22). My mom has been to WDW once ever and only to the MK. My dad and brother have never been...so I am the planner and have been given free reign of the plans because they know nothing! Haha! However, I obviously want them to enjoy the trip and ESPECIALLY the food! The restaurants we will be eating at include:

50's PTC
Tusker House

I feel like I have a good array of food, but can't decide where to go on our arrival night. Here are my top choices. Please give me opinions, advice, or even suggest a different restaurant not on my list. (Only using 1 TS)

Tutto Italia
Garden Grill

I have eaten at Akershus, but not the others.

We really love Chefs de France. Their food is wonderful, service is always good and the vanille creme brulee is to die for!

That being said.... rose and Crown is a favorite as well as the San Angel Inn. Whatever you choose will be fantastic. It's hard to find a bad meal in Epcot!

We just ate at Tutto Italia and thought the food and service were both spectacular.

We love Garden Grill. It's the most relaxing character meal we've been to and the food was great. Better than other character meals in my opinion. But we have young kids and they love the characters. So Garden Grill is actually going to be the first dinner of our next trip!

That said, I've never been to Tutto but I highly recommend Via Napoli. Loved he pizza there and we're from Brooklyn, NY (and I'm a pizza snob!). We're probably going to try Tutto on our next trip. But Via Napoli was excellent from the food to the service to the atmosphere. San Angel Inn and Chefs de France are favorites of ours as well. Excellent food and atmosphere at both!

I agree with the above poster, it's pretty hard to have a bad meal in Epcot.

Another vote for Chefs De France (well worth that 1 TS credit)...or for something more casual but great ambiance is San Angel Inn. I'd also suggest Coral Reef (though that is based on our 1 and only visit many years ago...but it was a neat place). We just did Garden Grill with our 3 teens (this year) and I would not recommend it for adults...JMO (too chaotic with all the kids there running around the rim...and the servers and characters trying to get to your table). Oh yeah, I've heard great things about Via Napoli and am dying to try it out. And as for the Boardwalk area (1 TS credit) there is Cape May and I do not recommend that (was great the 1st time we went, in 2009, but was blah this year) and there is Kouzzina which I have not yet been to but have heard great things about (SIL LOVES that place). The Big River is just OK. And my fave...Beaches and Cream, for good ol' diner food and ice cream...yummmmmm!
DVC since 2006
Next trip(s): Jan 24-26 at HHI
Aug 1-8 at BWV & AKV

I don't see Coral Reef on your list, but it is a favorite for us as well as my mom, and sisters's family. However, given your choices, I'd go with Tutto Italia. Enjoy your dinner whatever you choose.

I've dined at all but Nine Dragons at Epcot. Off your list of 3, I think Tutto has the best food but Garden Grill provides the best overall Disney experience. Since your family has little WDW experience I would choose Garden Grill.

My family loves Teppan Edo in Japan. It's always entertaining, festive, & great food/ service.

We also enjoy Rose & Crown outdoor seating to watch Illuminations.

Cape May dinner buffet is my family's new favorite. When we're at HS, we take the short boat ride over & it's a wonderful break from being in the park all day.

From your list, I'd go with Tutto. Count me in the Chefs De France camp, too. Love it. Have fun and good luck deciding!

I also love Chefs de France. We've eaten there on our last two trips and have always had an excellent meal and service. I've heard great things about Teppan Edo as well. We plan to try that one next trip.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and opinions. I am not fully decided yet, but thinking I will take Akershus off the list and add Chefs de France. I think I might tell my family about each restaurant and let them pick which they would rather do....I agree, that there are just so many good choices in Epcot!

I'll vote for Garden Grill. If you venture too far into the World Showcase with everyone tired and hungry from the trip, the effect is going to be spoiled if you're just rushing to the restaurant. I'd stick with Garden Grill, then take a walk around the lake after for desserts.

Out of your choices I would definitely pick Tutto. If it was up to me I would pick Marrakesh. I think the food is amazing and it's fun to listen to the band and watch the belly dancer. Tutto does have great food though.

From your list, I would pick Tutto, but I'm also going to throw Via Napoli out there as a suggestion. The service is always very good there and the pizza was great.
