Best mod resort for 2 boys??

Planning a Disney trip for our family of 4. We have an almost 3.5 year old and an almost 2 year old. We are thinking of staying in a moderate hotel. Which do you think would be best when thinking about pools, food court, any play areas? Thanks for your help!

CBR has an awesome pool, splash area, food court and playground. CBR is the only moderate with a splash area for younger kids. It also happens to be our favorite moderate!

I have stayed at all moderates except for POFQ. Without reservations, I would recommend Caribbean Beach Resort Preferred Room. This will get you very close (1-2 minute walk) from your room to the main pirate themed pool which includes a zero entry section. There is a separate pirate themed water play area only for the little ones (for toddler age) right next to the main pool. The food court and main building with gift shop and stuff is right there by the main pool.

This resort has a full room rehab scheduled to begin April 2014, and this kind of thing will take several months to complete, so the further from April 2014 your stay, the better your chances are at getting a brand new refurbished room.

Now we just stayed at CBR this past August 2013 and the rooms are in need of rehab and show much wear, but we loved our preferred room and its location. Our CBR stay was wonderful.

One last thought. I think a CBR will be wonderful but have to add to consider a monorail (deluxe) resort. With children as young as yours, I'd guess you'll be using strollers and doing daily naps. Unlike bus transportation, you can leave your (sleeping) child in the stroller getting on and off of the monorail. I would guess you'll do Magic Kingdom a lot also, and those monorail trips back and forth to the MK are super fast as well as fun.

I agree with the pp's about CBR. CBR is the only mod we've stayed at, but we loved everything about it. The pool is awesome with a great pirate theme, the food court is great, and the bus transportation was the best we've had at any resort. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

CBR is my least favorite resort, but those pirate rooms are pretty spectacular for little boys. I think my girls might even be drawn to them if I let them know they existed....

My little boy loves POR. The alligator bayou rooms are very fun and the pool is great. We like renting bikes and riding around the grounds. It's a beautiful resort. I think because of the royal rooms, it's getting a rep as a resort of girls only but my son LOVED it. There was just so much to do, I swear my kids were sometimes bummed to leave to go into the parks! The boat to DTD is a huge perk, we used it a lot.

My "girls" were in their 20's when they stayed in a pirate room and they loved it.
