Tell me about your favourite dinner buffet spot!

We're in the planning stages for May 2014, trying our best to keep it a secret from the kids for as long as possible.

Last year, the kids favourite meal, hands down, was Cape May for dinner. So that is definitely on our list again!!

Free offer or not, we'll be using the dining plan - for us, it isn't about "eating" our dollar value worth, but more for ease of planning. When we get to Disney, it will be paid for, and we won't be sitting down at each meal going "ok kids, we have $X to spend on this meal, so be careful what you order"

Knowing how DH & DS love to eat, buffet style may be our best options for dinner - for the variety and for the "all you can eat" part!

Nobody is super fussy, although DS can be hesitant to try things that are a bit different looking/sounding.

The only other dinner we did last year was the luau at Poly, which we won't do again. It was awesome, but now that we've done it once, we wouldn't spend two TS credits again.

What is your favourite dinner buffet??

And dare I ask - what one to avoid completely?

I agree with you about Cape May , It's a must do for us too. We also enjoy Ohana & 1900 PF.

The best food at a true buffet is most definitely Boma in AKL. Amazingly delicious! Yes there are some "different" offerings but also plenty of recognizable things for DS like mac & cheese, pasta & meatballs, roasted chicken legs, rice, corn muffins, desserts, etc.

Our favorite dinner is 'Ohana at the Poly. It is not a buffet but it is all-you-can-eat family style. You will get bread, salad, sticky wings, dumplings, noodles (asian insired), sauteed veggies and the main attraction -- grilled steak, chicken, pork and shrimp. They bring the meat around on skewers and you can have as much as you want. But save room for dessert, it's the best on property -- Bananas Foster Bread Pudding w/ Caramel Sauce. This is a must-do meal for us every time.

Thanks! I have Ohana on my list already, as well as 1900 (mostly for the character experience)

I had been waffling about Boma, and also considered Whispering Canyon too.

So many choices!

Whispering Canyon is way down on our list since they made the menu switch to the skillets.

Boma is by far our favourite resort buffet. So nice to have some different additions to the usual buffet fare at some of the other places.

Boma is also my favorite dinner buffet. When we were at WDW last week, however, one of the chefs at Jiko talked us into giving Hollywood and Vine a try for dinner. It was really good and we enjoyed it a lot. I was under the impression that it was a character meal at all meals, but that is not the case. DD especially liked the chocolate fountain. I loved the lobster Mac and cheese.

We really like breakfast and lunch at Crystal Palace.
Also, you might want to consider Garden Grill. It's family style but it is all you can eat.

Have fun!!!

I love 1900 Park Fare at dinner. The food was tasty and fresh and the Step Sisters are worth the price of admission alone.

And I know it's not technically a "buffet", but I would eat at Ohana every night of my vacation if I could, I love it THAT much. I'm an 'Ohanaholic.

On our last trip we needed a last minute ADR and ended up going to Liberty Tree Tavern and we all really enjoyed that. It isn't really a buffet but it is family style. We were given WAY more food then we would typically eat.

Although DW and I didn't enjoy it as much, our kids' favorite place to eat on our last trip was Hollywood and Vine! Since our trips are about the kids we'll be eating there again next week. We are doing the Fantasmic! package which will be nice.

Do NOT go to

Trails End! Despite the fact that the food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful, Do NOT go there....it needs to remain a hidden gem...so I repeat...do NOT got to Trails End!
