We've seen a far greater variety of fish at Serenity Bay than at the family beach. If DD was not sailing with us, we would head directly to Serenity Bay!

I don't snorkel (I'd love to try, but I'm afraid I'd freak out - I almost drowned myself and my friend trying to teach me synchro swimming because I flipped out (when I was little I was jumped on and knocked back down to the bottom of the pool when I had almost surfaced from jumping off the diving board) being under that long...I know it's different, but still), but in July we had a big ray come swimming along at SB. It was GORGEOUS!

We were just at the adult beach on Tuesday. We spent a good 4 hrs there. We had no problems at all and loved it!!

One cool thing at Serenity Bay is the ability to walk out to that sand bar. I did this in bare feet just a few months ago! I wouldn't consider this area rocky at all, but I grew up going to the beach in Maine.

DH and I we at Serenity Bay in April, the water was great, no rocks that we saw and no sea weed. The only thing I kinda flipped out about was a jellyfish swam right in front of me. However I would be silly to not expect sea life to be swimming around. I just backed away slowly and it went on its merry way. The sea weed might of washed up during a storm.

How awesome was that sandbar?? DH and I walked/swam out there several times and hung out. Our favorite thing to do was to dive off the edge of the sandbar into the water. At the edge closest to the beach, the depth dropped off quickly to about 6 feet.
