Opinions on rooms outside elevators

We are booking our cruise!!! and are looking for connecting rooms category 8. Available are two rooms (9154 & 9156) which are directly outside of the aft elevators. Is this a good location? Will it be noisy there? We are bringing along my MIL and we are trying to limit the amount of walking she has to do so we thought this would be better than our other option (9002 & 9004). What do you think?

Our last cruise on the Fantasy we had a room right outside the aft elevators on deck 8. We never once were bothered by noise, and loved the convenience of it. We're booked right outside the midship elevators for our next cruise, and I didn't bat an eyelash to do so. I'm sure others have had different experiences, but we loved out location. Good luck!

We have only sailed on the classic ships (prefer the itinerary), but always book midship and try to get the rooms closest to the elevator side (not the stairs side). Love the convenience and there is no noise from the elevators themselves. The people coming out of them can't be controlled, but those same people go down the hallway so would make the same amount of noise wherever they go.

Smile Room 9152

Hi there, our last cruise was on the Disney Fantasy and we were outside the aft elevators room 9152. It was a great location and we never heard a thing. Just up the stairs and you were in Cabanas. We loved it so much we booked it again for March break.

Same - we had 9152 on the Fantasy last November. Being right next to the elevators was a positive not a negative (no noise issues with the elevator at all). The only noise we heard the whole cruise was the mother next door screaming at her kids all week.

We were in 8570 (i think that was it) right outside the midship elevators on the fantasy. . The only noise we heard were a few kids down the hall from us who always ran everywhere. So it wouldn't have mattered where our room was in that case. We would have heard them almost anywhere on that deck. We loved the convenience.

Sounds like a good choice for you. Our staterooms are usually about 10 doors down from the elevators and for the most part have had respectful people around us - so not too much extra noise issues.

I was going to say if the choice was to cruise by the elevators or not to cruise ... For Me and My Family, We Choose to Cruise!

No on the new ships (we have different favorite rooms), but on the classic ships we have a favorite room next to the aft elevators. Never has noise of any kind been a problem.

You won't be disappointed. The elevator noise was minimal. We did, however, carry a small fan because we are white noise people. The convenience to everything is terrific. We hardly used the elevators for anything.

We were within a couple of rooms of the Aft elevators on Wonder and had no significant problems and always had full drink cups from the nearby drink station. We did sometimes hear traffic and voices, but nothing I would consider different from any hotel that has a lot of kids.

That doesn't take into consideration the people that are standing around waiting for an elevator. I have adjoining cabins booked for a B2B next May, and this is a bit of a concern of mine.

I was really tired the first time I saw the title of this thread, and my first thought before reading it was:

Why would anyone want a room inside an elevator??

Still makes me laugh.
