How does the Main st Bakery Starbucks CS work?

It appears the menu doesn't distinguish between adult credits and kids-can we use child credits to order a coffee and sandwich - my child could eat the sandwich and I could have the coffee- oh and I am not concerned with this being the best use of a CS credit as I know it probably isn't.

There is no difference between child and adult CS credits - it's in the ordering. If the restaurant has no child's menu, you can use the child's credits exactly as you would use the adults' credits.
