Hmm, t thought i posted this already but don't see it now, so here I go again! My name is Jessica (surprise) and I'm newly married, celebrating my one year anniversary next month. I've always been athletic and self-motivated, but also continuously trying to lose weight. I'm one of those that watches other women lose while running 5k's and while I run marathons and gain a pound... But I am lucky in that I truly enjoy exercising. The past 1.5 years I've had some health things that have changed my weight/habits, but happily I think they're finally on the upswing. This month I'm working on getting back into a running routine and my weight loss goal is 6lb, which will put me back to the high end of my range. I'm going abroad for a wedding in October and a WDW trip in Jan, so there are some picture-heavy trip motivators in my near future as well...

It's really nice to read everyone's back stories, great question!

Rose - AMAZING about your house!! I'm sure shocking as not much time to mentally process, but sometimes the best things just happen quickly so we don't have time to change our minds...

Hi, haven' t been on here in a few days so catching up. I am Donna, mother to Mikey who is 7 and step-mom to Hanna who just turned 13 on Sunday!!! I started my weight loss journey last year when I had 3 months to go til Disney and I wanted to lose 25 pounds which I did with P90X. Came back from Disney and didn't keep up with working out and all 25+5 came back

I am going back to Disney in December and would like to lose 30 pounds or more and have started doing T-25 which I am loving. Exercise is the easier part for me, diet is the hard part!! but am working on it and hoping to see the weight come off quickly! I have a desk job which makes it even harder plus EVERYONE is always bringing in some sort of cake/cookies etc. I try to work from home as much as i can to get away from it HAHA

"grumble" trying yet again :)

I went and composed an absolutely wonderful post last night and wouldn't you know it, it wouldn't post. Work computers sometimes are sketchy Last night was quite slow and boring, which isn't bad except for fact I was so tired and munchies kept trying to tempt me with promises of helping me stay awake. I tried to ignore them though. Instead I made more plans and reservations for my Disney World trip next month. I am taking my son there for his 18th birthday my lil princess is also coming. So far have reservations at Tusker House, SciFi Diner, and breakfast with Stitch at 'Ohana. Since this will be a last trip for awhile I am trying to make a list of all the must do's while there. Any of you have any suggestions?

My son and I are probably pre-diabetic so that is big reason we are both trying to diet and exercise. We are hoping to reverse the problem so that we don't flip into the diabetic group. I have three relatives who all have diabetes and I don't want us to be like them. Neither of us could handle the fingersticks or shots which is funny since I am a nurse and deal with those all the time at work. Sadly diabetes has become an epidemic in our country.

Evening everyone.

I've just spent an hour or so updating the spreadsheet - you should all have a confirmation pm from me.

I seem to be missing starting weights and target for August from the following people:
eisforpants
leeandstacismom
pjlla
Soben

Please can you send me them in the next couple of days if you still want to take part.

Also, I noticed when going back through the posts that there have been a couple of offers to coach, so I will happily take you up on those if you are still willing:

now until 11th Aug - pot luck free-for-all!!
12 - 18 Aug - Volunteer(s) needed!!!
19 - 25 Aug - Rose&Mike (house move permitting!!)
36 - 31 Aug - Zim

I'm away for the weekend, but please remember to PM me your progress on Friday and I will update the colours in post #3 on Sunday afternoon. Please don't rely on me seeing your loss in a post on the thread as sometimes I miss stuff!! PMs I can keep track of!

Actually I shift back and forth between the two minute by minute.
To sum it up we have 45-55 days to closing, no where to live, no concrete plans and absolutely no idea what we are going to do...
I keep telling myself it's a good stress.
Awesome! Congrats!

1. fireworks or Illuminations cruise
2. parasailing
3. birthday cake for DS
4. dessert party at MK (NOT diet friendly )
5. tour (like behind the scenes type thing)
6. MNSSHP if you are there at that time

I'll coach the 12-18 if you still need someone. Let me know

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ugh. I had such a long post and poofed myself by hitting the backspace button and deleting it all
Quick summary: I was thinking of a few "friends" that used to hang out on the Biggest Loser challenges like CC, Fran, and D73. Has anyone seen them lately? I binged on 5 cookies after receiving stressful news about work. Bah! I'm owning it and moving on. I decided to wash sheets tonight so I have to go switch some loads around and get DS7 into the shower, so I have to run.
I hope to have more time for replies tomorrow and NOT POOF MYSELF!! See you then.
Good evening all! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer night.
I have been doing great on my diet and exercise this week and I am even tracking everything on MFP!! Which for me is a huge deal, since I get so anxious about tracking every thing I put in my mouth, but this time is it working great. However it does makes for some interesting entries!! Last night I was getting "ready" to watch my new fav show "Drunk History" and created a new meal called "yummies" But after trying to catch the Disunplugged podcast video (which Livestream does not work well and kept stopping every 5 sec!!!) I ended up watching it around midnight. Since I was already at my calorie goal and did not want to eat/drink back my exercise, I ended up putting a couple "yummies" on for breakfast today!! That being said, I was a little more encouraged to work out today, just so I could eat some food!! I was starting out about 300 calories down for the day But it all worked out good and I did enjoy the show.
In other news I am getting so excited for our upcoming trip this October!! I managed to score some FD and with the savings was able to upgrade to the Coronado resort and actually save $50!! It will be our first time in a mod resort and it was actually my first choice. I just need to get our special events reserved next week and we will be set! The trip will be all paid for and I have even managed to get a few hundred in cards to play with while there!! Now if I can get on with those Magic Bands, I will be downright giddy!!
Guess its time to stop rambling now, wishing you all a great night!
I feel a little better about losing my freshly-typed post now, nice not to be alone I've had mixed feelings about using MFP again as I get so obsessive with it, but I'm feeling encouraged by seeing how many ladies here are using it properly that I'm going to try again. I also am happy to report tonight was my first full workout back in the gym. It's been doing some at home/outside, but not nearly enough. I finally made it here (just leaving the gym now) and its ridiculous how accomplished I feel! Small victories, eh?
Well I think I'll be reporting a loss tomorrow. Although this bday week has done everything it possibly could to sabotage. Including eating about half my birthday cake last weekend! Just love that moist deluxe white cake mix when it's all put together....
Between that and dinners out to celebrate a bunch of birthdays (including one tonight!) - I swear half my family are Leos... I've really had to bump up the exercise to balance it out. Tonight I'm really going to try to be good. Already checked the restaurant's online menu. Elevation Burger - guaranteed to elevate your calorie intake!!! But I found a vegan burger and side salad that I think will work. And hopefully they have A1 or I'm going to have to splurge on a little mayo. Regardless my mantra will be 'weigh in tomorrow... weigh in tomorrow...'
Jill, I will happily take you up on your offer to coach 12th - 18th August. Thank you very much for that.
Well, I'm off for my indian buffet tonight, and have decided that I'm going to eat whatever I want and live with it. After all I've managed to achieve I think I deserve it. We're not having a 'big' holiday this year due to work committments, so having a few days out here and there instead.
Shopping day in a nearby big city planned for Friday as I really need to buy some clothes that actually fit me, and the autumn stuff is starting to come into the shops now. Bound to be some unhealthy food involved there too!
Straight back on the healthy eating plan on Saturday though and 5K at 9:00am Saturday is still in my plans!!
Sorry about the poof fairy! I've been missing a bunch of our "old" friends as well! Maybe I'll send out some PMs tonight when I have time..... just to let them know that they are missed!
*******************
Happy Thursday all! Not sure where exactly my head has been lately.... but I woke up at midnight last night and realized that we are scheduled to leave on vacation Saturday morning and I have no lists made, nothing packed, nothing planned... NADA!! I got very little accomplished today other than laundry and meals for today, so it is going to be a "ONE AND DONE" type of packing.... doing it all tomorrow! So out of my comfort zone!!
Tonight is going to be a bit of a wash for me, as I told DS I would drive him to a party 90 minutes up north. He hasn't had much "friend time' this summer since we have really concentrated on getting ready for DD's party and driving DD to swim practice/meets. So I didn't want to say "no" to his request. He met these kids at a robotics tournament this spring and has stayed friendly with them through Facebook and Skype. I called the mom today just to be sure it was nothing sketchy (not that I don't trust DS, but you never know) and it sounds fine.... robotics kids, pizza, soda, and movies. She assured me that she and her DH would be there to supervise. I will find a fast-food place with free wifi and spend the evening with my friends at Downton Abbey thanks to Amazon streaming movies. I've already packed my OP dinner to take along.... fingers crossed I can find a microwave to use at a local 7-11 or something. I will also have along my sneakers and will take a nice walk if I can find a safe place. I don't know this town at all.... I suppose I should take a minute to google it before I leave!
I envy those of you who have been talking about how the exercise part of this is easy for you.... that is definitely the part I struggle with the most. I've mostly got the food thing down.... but I just hate exercise! A trainer that I worked with a few years ago sent me an email about a running class she is starting up this fall. DD is encouraging me to go, but I just don't love running and really don't want to spend the $100 on the class. That being said, after 9 years we finally just cancelled our YMCA membership, since DD won't be swimming any more. I will NOT be driving 60 minutes each way to the Y we currently belong to and since the local Y really threw us under the bus last year (if you remember the whole swim team disbanding fiasco), I REALLY hesitate to give them my $$ again. I am contemplating joining the Gold's Gym that is about 35 minutes away because they have some classes that sound something I would enjoy.... kickboxing, pilates, yoga.... and far cheaper than the Y. But I'm going to wait just a bit until school starts and see what happens with my subbing and WW meetings.
Anyhow.... getting a bit rambly here, but I feel like I haven't had time to chat lately!!
Sorry I can't help out with the coaching. I would offer to do next week and it wouldn't be a big deal even though I'm on vacation, but I do not know how reliable the wi-fi is going to be up at this place, since we have never stayed here before.
TTYL......................P
Soda and chocolate were my triggers, now I've turned to ice cream. I need something sweet after I eat if I can't brush my teeth right away. I'd love to use gum but my kids will not leave it alone. I have to hide it.
I'm glad to hear you are trying to make lifestyle changes to head off diabetes. I'm hoping to break the cycle for my family. I was borderline diabetic when I was pregnant with DS17 so he is extremely diligent about his food intake and exercise. He wants to be a sports nutritionist when he grows up.
Great job on getting your diabetes under control without the shot!!!
Buffy...I had the same un-goal! when I was sick with Cushings and gaining and gaining..I told my Mom that I really just didn't want to hit 200 lbs. For all three surgeries I weighed in at 193, so I guess the good Lord spared me from seeing the actual number..though I have little doubt I was there.
my intro...Hi, i'm Molli, ohMom as i'm a Mom in Ohio I had two DD ages 21 (this Sunday) and 17 1/2, married to a fantastic DH for almost 18 years. I work very part time as an x-ray tech. I'm a hormonal nightmare...I am recovering from cushings disease in which was cured by removing my adrenal glands leaving me steroid dependent for life. however, now I control how much (syntethic) cortisol I have in my body instead of a faulty pituitary gland. I gained 55 lbs while I had cushings, and lost all but all of my muscle mass. My adrenal surgery was 10 months ago and i'm close, but not quite balanced in the 6 hormones that I replace. bleh. It's been a constant roller coaster as my needs change during recovery. I resumed my walking this summer but i'm along way from the fit and strong gal I was 5 years ago. I will not reclaim that body every again; but my 'new' normal is ALOT better to life than uncontrollable cushings. that was a lot, thanks for reading. I like to share as it plays into very heavily in my journey here on WISH
i'm struggling with IBS too, and so today I started 30 days gluten-free. i didn't test positive for celiac, thank you Lord, and I believe my GI tract is just very irritated from the years of high steroid levels. So my hope is to be very kind to it for 3-4 months and it will heal and be all better
hardest time of the year for me...hands down..December
well tomorrow morning i'll see if i did damage on vaca and then i will PM my info to you Helen!
