Family members TiW

Can I use a family members card if they are not present? Even if no, are servers likely to check or notice?

No, you can't. Yes, they check the name on the card.

As the PP said, they do check the name on the card. They usually do this by comparing the name on the TIW card to the name on the credit or Key to the World card presented for payment. If you use cash they will ask to see ID.

As for payment, on our recent trip we wanted to use up some gift cards and asked the server to use that first before putting the balance on the KTTW card. Twice the server misunderstood and thought we were asking her to split the bill between two credit cards. We were told that this was not possible as they were cracking down on the rule that the KTTW card holder had to pay for the entire meal. Once we explained that it was our own gift card it was fine, but I share this just to let you know that they do want payment from the TIW holder.

Finally, if you do use your family member's TIW and are caught they can keep the TIW card since it is a breach of contract. Personally I wouldn't risk it.

Agree with pp just wanted to add that we have noticed them adhering to the rules and being stricter in May of this year.

No you can't, and it's the rule that you can't, whether they actually check the card or not. And yes, at times they do check the card.

Won't work, more than 50% of the restaurants asked for ID over the last two weeks while I was there.

Of course you can pay an extra $50 for an additional family member card.
