This thread is great! I am LOL at all the funny stories.

On our first trip, I just planned what we wanted to do without sticking to common areas, which would have made better sense. In my head the parks were smaller and closer together. We were with some friends and we all took our DDs to BBBoutique at DTD. We were supposed to meet up at Akershus afterwards. Our daughter's picture package took much longer than we expected and our friends were waiting for us to meet them (they had gone ahead to Epcot). They kept calling us to see where we were, and we tried to tell them to eat without us but they wouldn't. We had NO idea what would be the fastest way to Akershus. Someone told us to walk through the Intl Gateway (it's just a short walk, they said). It was awful!!!! We RAN the whole way through the back door of Epcot, my daughter was wearing her Cinderella dress and sweating all through her clear plastic shoes, DH pushing the stroller as fast as he could, until we got to Akershus. Our friends were mad at us, we were all hot and sweaty and miserable from running, and we were too exhausted to do anything else afterwards. To this day we have never walked through the nations again.

A couple of years ago we were checking into YC CL. The lounge was closed but the CM offered to get us drinks. I asked for a diet Coke. My then 9 yo says, "MOM, don't get drunk!" I can only imagine what the CMs must have thought goes on in my house. The irony of it is that I don't drink alcohol and my DD has never seen me drunk. I have NO idea where that came from!

Holy cow, yea that is no fun on a time crunch

Go back again to the World Showcase sometime without the Triathlon in between OR just sign up for the Disney Marathon/Princess marathon in if you insist on running in glass slippers

There aren't any boats from Downtown Disney to the Epcot Resorts. You would have had to take a bus. And buses from Downtown Disney are very slow.

I have no idea what we did. We were bewildered.

Walked into the bathroom and saw the urinals. I figured they had installed them for the boys that moms bring into the restrooms with them until I saw a gentleman walk out of a stall.

That's ok. Not at WDW, but we were going to test drive some cars and had ds with us when he was about 8. Dh is telling the salesperson that he needs something with good gas mileage, blah, blah, and then ds just says, "Yeah, and he's drunk!" I was speechless. When I recovered, I asked ds why he said that. He thought it would be funny! We had a long talk about why that wasn't funny. Oddly enough, while I will have a glass of wine in front of the kids, dh doesn't!

Okay, I cannot believe I remembered this. Every year, I go the week after Thanksgiving and many of my trips are solo. I always go to POR and spend a great deal of time in the lounge.

One year, a couple adopted me because "they felt sorry for me because I had no family or friends to accompany me." They literally stalked every night.

The last day, I was not feeling well; either the long days, the drinking or the stalking finally caught up to me. I spent much of my last day on that wonderful rocking chair facing the marina just soaking in the week.

About an hour before the ME bus was to arrive, I went inside and just laid out on the sofa and went back and forth reading and napping.

This couple saw me and flopped on the couch, and was so excited to see me - which began the inevitable feeling that I was going to lose it. I was able to make it to the sink in the bathroom next to the lounge.....ugh! A little girl was waiting for her mom and cried, Mommy, there is a lady barfing in there. I guess the couple heard her say it.

When I came out, they had disappeared.

Last time I was at HS I decided I wanted a snack. I go to get a hot pretzel and a frozen lemon in an orange bird cup. The CM rang me up and I swing my book bag around to get my money and knock over a huge basket of utensils on to the ground! I felt so bad and kept apologizing. I wanted to help but the CM said she would get it. I walked away with my head down, holding my pretzel and my happy orange bird cup. Lol

I'm seeing a running trend of restroom gender confusion in WDW

If I ever witness this I think I will just freeze in my spot, let my mouth drop, let my eyes grow wide and follow them with my head as they awkwardly shuffle out. That will create an even more magical moment for the restroom raider.

For my family, I am the Disney planner. In all other things, DW is the planner who keeps the whole family on track and makes sure we all get to the right places at the right times. This was mine, and I was happy to own this particular planning domain. Our second family trip to Disney, after a very successfully planned first family trip to Disney, had us scheduled to eat at CRT on our last night. Up we walk to the podium, and I give them our name and dining time.

There were a few rounds of "How do you spell that?" and "What was the first name again?" with me getting increasingly riled before I gave them the ADR number and they finally found the ADR... for the previous evening. Oops.

Luckily, they were able to squeeze us in for that night, but my planning hubris was absolutely deflated.

I was one who learned to consider her clothing before riding the hard way. We were at AK in July 2009 and it was hot! I was wearing white pants and a new light pink GF shirt that I had just bought. DH talked DD, then 4 and just at 38" into riding KRR.

I didn't even think about what I was wearing until I got soaked and as I got of the ride DH and DS, then 18, began laughing so hard DS almost couldn't breathe. I was completely see through! I had of course color coordinated and was wearing white undergarments. I was so embarrassed and livid at my family I stomped out of the park. As we walked out on man actually fell over his kids stroller and stumbled down the bridge on your way to the Tree of Life. All DH and DS did was walk behind me howling with laughter.

In hindsight I should have immediately bought new clothes but I was so upset and embarrassed all I could think was to get out of the park.

Even now when we get dressed to go to AK or MK they both ask me if I am going to wear my GF shirt.
