Question WIFI at the resorts (in particular AKL)

We have heard that AKL has free WIFI :

1) Do we need to have a password , or can we simply connect by default to an “unsecured” network?

2) Does WIFI work well both in the room and in common areas ?

3) How is the signal quality ?

4) Are there any issues reported ?

The reason why I am asking these questions is that my husband just purchased a Galaxy Note 8 and has some difficulties to connect from places that are supposed to have “Free WIFI” .

THANKYOU !! laura

We were at okw last year and as far as I recall we just had to pick the wifi net work no need to put in code.
It was a bit intermittent though and when it worked it was great.

The free WiFi at AKL is indeed available. Its free and worth every penny.

1) Do we need to have a password , or can we simply connect by default to an “unsecured” network? No password needed. Its an unsecured network.

2) Does WIFI work well both in the room and in common areas ? Yes, it works both in the room and in common areas.

3) How is the signal quality ? It varies significantly from good signal strength to very weak. Also, thru put will vary significantly, independent of signal strength.

4) Are there any issues reported ? Occasionally you may have to reboot your computer/tablet/whatever to restore communications.
