Thanks for the update, Remus. I was just reading over on the other thread that the most serious charges may be dropped against her. Has anyone found info as to why?

Hey, BCF...welcome back! You can relax and just watch this trial!

http://www.thejuryexpert.com/2012/05...-of-witnesses/

Most states leave it up to the individual judges’ discretion to allow jurors to ask questions of witnesses in civil trials, either through case law, statute, or with no specific rule mandating or prohibiting such a practice. As of July 1, Illinois becomes the most recent state to specifically allow juror questions2. According to the National Center for State Courts State of the State Courts survey3, several states, such as Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, and Wyoming, mandate that jurors be allowed to ask questions during civil trials. A number of states, including Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Nebraska, outright prohibit jurors from asking questions of witnesses at trial4.

I think I heard it's because they don't have certain records of communications between AS and Hemy, and because he maintains that he acted alone. ? Now is a heck of a time to be figuring this out. As I think I said before, I seriously have my doubts about them being able to convict her, altho I'm not really up on all the evidence against her. I think she's super unlikable, and might very well be guilty, but convicting her (as well as convicting GZ) might not be possible without good solid evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.

I hope this is not another one that will walk away. I need to still read a lot more.

Factually guilty or not, she will walk away if there's not enough evidence to convict her. I've heard as an example of how people know she's guilty is that she told people, BEFORE SHE WAS TOLD, that her husband had been shot. But first of all, that's not enough to convict her (obviously, and I'm sure that's not all they have); second, someone (playing devil's advocate) said on HLN today that after she was told that something had happened to her husband and she was on the way to the hospital, she COULD have heard on the radio about a shooting at the daycare; and third, I was wondering this...if Hemy called her and told her he shot her husband and they could now be together, and that she didn't know he was going to kill him. He's crazy; I don't think he had to have been manipulated by her. The point is...who knows? If Hemy doesn't testify against her (and if he does, he's already shown he's NUTS), and there's very little other evidence against her, I can't see her being convicted.

I think AS is super creepy and obnoxious. I also think that there is, as always, evidence that won't be admissible, that will make us as observers of the trial lean more toward her guilt, but of course, not the jury. Again, I'm not up on a lot of the so called evidence, but I've started to watch the HLN coverage (post-GZ, thankfully, and intermingled with Royal Baby ), and I just don't think it's looking good for the prosecution. The evidence seems pretty flimsy.

Yes, at this point, the date stands for jury selection.

Am I correct? or Incorrect? Was she tried once before? To bad they don't allow federal streaming for trials. Whitey sure looks good with a lot of fire works in the court room.

I'm confused. Correct or incorrect about what? When jury selection starts? Yes, it's been set for July 29 for a while; I do wonder tho if it will get delayed with this new development about Friday's hearing. No, she wasn't tried before. Hemy was.

Haven't watched anything about Whitey, except an occasional (rare, because I hate watching the news) news report. I saw that the guy who was supposed to testify, but then dropped as a witness, was murdered. (I think he was murdered...have they said for sure? I know he was found dead, I think on the side of the road?) and I heard something about testimony about how Whitey strangled some guy's stepdaughter. Now there's a defendant I REALLY hope doesn't walk! And a trial I would NOT go to watch! I don't want to be near people with targets on their backs.

I saw something on the facebook site that said she was not guilty of murder. I need to go back something seems strange as watching one of the videos. For some reason I thought she was asking for new trial . I think I am incorrect. I am whacko....

Or just that she PLED not guilty sometime back. Trial supposed to start next week. Unless there's a delay with this new hearing thingamajig.

Ok, it's just surprising that "thingamajig" doesn't trigger the spellchecker...
