We have seen snakes at Blizzard Beach, Coronado Springs, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom (in the wild, not on display)....NOT pleasant, but thanks to my morbid curiousity and reading these snake threads (yes, there are other threads on snakes, avoid!), now I am looking all the time.

Not afraid of anything else, including spiders, but no likey snakes!

I never get ground floor for this reason. OMG I read a trip report and they had stayed at POR and they had a frog in there room. So now I never request any floor. I do ask for lake view but if they gave me bottom floor I would ask for something else.

We were at Wilderness Lodge a few years ago when I snake swam through the baby pool. That was enough to make my kids never go back in it.

Two years ago, we stayed at the CR in the Garden Wing on the third floor and had a lizard in our bathroom. The front desk said they would send someone to "remove" it, but we caught it in bucket and just took it outside.

I know nature is all around us, but I would prefer it not to be in my room.

Have had several snake sightings at WDW but the best one was a snake slithering his way out of the lazy river at Blizzard Beach.
People would report snake sightings and the owner of the site kept tabs on where snakes were sighted along with the date and time. Then they compiled lists of the most likely places to run into them based on that (unofficial) data. (Obviously some people have too much free time on their hands.) I remember the top 2 were Tom Sawyer Island and the lazy river at Blizzard Beach. Needless to say, those are two places you won't find me at Disney.

I've managed to do a good job of avoiding them on our trips. In ~50 days on property over the last 12 years, I've only seen 2. One was on the pool deck at ASMovies and one was on the pool deck at Pop.

No snakes on Hawaii leads to other issues of nothing to keep the rodent populations down! Ewwww....I'd take snakes over rodents any day!

There was a post on here a year ago or so about a little boy who was bitten by a poisonous snake on one of the walk-ways (sidewalks) at one of the resorts. He was taken to the hospital and treated, and I believe had to stay overnight for more than just a night.

well. I think WDW should relocate to either northern Alaska or else build a huge dome over the whole thing and eradicate the rodents and bugs and reptiles.

I will be at Pop in 3 weeks and I can GUARANTEE this post will be with me the WHOLE time.

I hate hate hate hate hate snakes. Nothing panics me more...

I would have freaked out too!! But let me tell you...a friend found a snake in her room at ASM on the 2nd floor a few years ago.... and living here in SC, LUCKILY..KNOCK ON WOOD...PRAY TO GOD....there has never been one in MY house, but several friends have had them in their homes, upstairs and downstairs. I do have several corn snakes in my backyard. Growing up in OH and moving down here it takes some getting used to, BUT it is the way of life and Florida....well, there are snakes everywhere!!!

Did you kiss it? It may have been a prince.

We saw several black racer snakes at TL last time we were there. We told the life guards and they sent someone to look for them to relocate them. I would think with the water close by and the easy food supply, you would see them more often so they do a pretty good job keeping them away.

I read the post. The mother said it was a cottonmouth which is a highly venomous snake. I believe he may have reached for something at the edge of the sidewalk near the bushes. I can't remember for sure but the mother herself posted on the thread. And he was in the hospital a few days.
