We like the Great Dalmuti. Easy and fun, though 4 would be the minimum.

We play a lot of Ticket to Ride. Another we like (card based game) is Guillotine. Wits and Wagers in on our list to get next. We also play Apples to Apples and Settlers of Catan.

Apples to Apples is fun. If you like monopoly another fun board game is Act Your Wage to me its a mixture of life and monopoly.

Another vote for Apples to Apples. We played this a lot with our 3 young adult ds during the hurricane when we had no electricity.

DD15 loves to play Clue. And Uno. And Monopoly (the Disney version, of course).

Apples to Apples is fun too.

we like Settlers of Catan.

And we really love Dominion -- http://www.amazon.com/Rio-Grande-Gam.../dp/B001JQY6K4

It's more of a card game, there is no board -- but it's really fun with a lot of strategy and game variety.

Apples to Apples is A LOT of fun! Another favorite is Cards Against Humanity, which is a much dirtier version of Apples to Apples honestly. I can understand if a parent wouldn't want to buy their teen the game (you can only buy it from its website, not from a regular store) but you can print out your own cards for free on the site to get an idea of what's included. Perhaps you could do your own censoring of it if you went that route?
