Disney World Boycott?

Has anyone else heard of people cancelling reservations or calling to complain to Disney because of the recent Florida boycott? Due to the Zimmerman verdict.

People trying to get a law overturned via complaints to Disney.

I recently read an article about people boycotting orange juice from Florida too.

I would do it in a second if I thought it would accomplish something, but I think it's ultimately futile.

That's very kind of them to open up their reservations for others.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit! Hopefully everyone will boycott and we'll be there all by ourselves

I don't get it. I understand Disney is a major corporation but what do they have to do with the Zimmerman case verdict?

My guess is nothing but its in FL. If you don't go you hurt the state economy.

You're probably right.

I don't think it'll really do anything but people can boycott anything they choose, I suppose.

In my opinion, I really don't care. If I want to go somewhere, (especially WDW) I will go there unless there is some major health/safety issue there. (Ex: Malaria, Food poisoning, etc). Some court ruling is NOT going to ruin my WDW vacation. On the other hand, It's less busy! No more FPs necessary.

Boycott away! It won't even make a dent in the crowds this time of year.

yeah that will show them-- take a state that has been ridden with bankruptcies and foreclosures, and try to slap them down again. what a great idea. That will show those 12 jurors. Next time they should bend to mob pressure instead of deliberating as they collectively see the evidence.

And I wouldn't mingd the lower crowds, either.

boycotting Florida makes NO sense whatsoever in relation to the Zimmerman trial... first off, the case was handled in a court of law and a panel of jurors... it just so happens the courthouse was in Florida. Florida tried to throw everything they could at him but there just wasn't enough evidence beyond a reasonable doubt whether we like the outcome or not... the justice system did what it was supposed to do. I didn't like the verdict in the Casey Anthony or OJ trial either, but the court system did was it was designed to do... if you can't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt...it's over.

A lot of people (including the horrible media these days) is forgetting the stand your ground law (that many people are protesting and boycotting for), wasn't even used as a defense in this case at all.... so again, none of this makes sense

if they want to boycott Florida and stop coming to Disney let 'em... shorter lines for us lol
