So for Fantasmic, you don't need to get in line an hour early if you have the FP, you can just stroll in right as the show is starting?
From what I have seen, there are the traditional fast pass attractions but there are a lot of shows too. Besides illuminations, fantastic, there is the Electrical Light Parade, Wishes, Lights/motors/action show, idol show to name a few.
For the shows with seating like fantastic, I believe there is a separate entrance so you wouldn't have to be there as early assuming the fast pass line is shorter. For illuminations, parade, and wishes, there is suppose to be a designated roped off areas, so again, you would not have to be waiting reserving a spot for a log time. I would note that those shows seem to be available on a limited basis ( I don't see them every day of my trip)

Finally, I should note that there is fast pass for character greetings at most of the parks. Not sure how that works but I would imagine there would be 2 lines at the character greetings. For those, you get a designated hour to visit the characters.

I hope this helps. Good luck planning!

So you are North West, much like a new celebrity baby.

I am North East. Enjoyed the most amazing beach day yesterday at the Salisbury Beach reservation with a bunch of friends.

Afraid of Poly renovations in March 2014 so moving to the BC for the 1st time!

I am booking a Garden view for my brother, neice, DD13 and I. I would like 2 queens and a daybed. I would like a patio (do they have these?) or a full balcony. I would be happy being not too far from elevators or an exit. Any suggestions on how to request this?

thanks!
Hate to do this to you- but want to make sure you know that BC will be undergoing room rehabs starting after the first of the year. We don't know exactly when the work will start or finish. The work will start on the 5th floor with the renovation of the CL lounge (which will be moved to the Presidential Suite while work is being done). Then rooms on the 5th will be made-over. Then I believe the work will progress downward, floor to floor.

I also believe that the work will be as minimally disruptive to guests as possible, with the areas under renovation being inaccessible to guests and the work happening during the day while guests are at the parks and pool.

If this work is a concern for you, you may want to consider booking at the Yacht Club- that resort will eventually undergo renovation, but not in the time-frame you are looking at. Plus, you have the benefit of all full balconies at the Yacht Club.

There are rooms with first floor patios at both BC and YC. There are some daybeds throughout the resort, not sure how many.

Your requests for your room should be in priority order:

"Full balcony or patio, please, with daybed if possible. Close to elevator preferred"

Note- if you do not get a room with a daybed, you may request a rollaway which will be provided free of charge based on availability.

Let us know when and where you end up booking!

Bumping this. I don't know if there are restrictions on which rooms would qualify for a military discount. From previous responses it sounds like the dates are more of a factor in which rooms you can book and when.

Have folks booked club level with a military discount?

Thanks!

Before today we could only do a LV or club level and I was uncomfortable spending that kind of $$ on an extra trip even though DH is dying to try CL. I told him maybe next time. But I will see you Sunday when I check in
I'll update your listing.

Awesome! Thanks for letting us travel along. Do you mind checking out the BB offer you have and what the return timeframe is? Thanks. :-)

IOW, greeted at the front entrance and escorted up, etc. We were very early (8:00 am) and were offered a room right away with rollaway or we could wait til normal check in for daybed. We chose to wait and started exploring. Thanks to this most helpful group we scored a couple of lockers in the health club, changed into our bathing suits and made "rope drop" for SAB. They actually opened about 10 minutes early. After sliding the slide and tubing the oh so lazy river and reading a few pages of a good mystery, the text came that the room was ready! We're staying in Disney for 11 days with 10 day park hoppers so this was our resort day so it was quite a bonus that the room was ready so early. Our fridge is disconnected, and we are on a list for replacement but it is a minor inconvenience. We drove down so we have a couple of soft sided coolers to keep the important things chilled such as the Pinot and Chardonnay.
After receiving our room and getting our luggage with in5 minutes of calling, the DH and I made our way back down to the pool and over to hurricane Hannah's to celebrate the official start of our holiday. Naturally, I had to order a sunken treasure as I was a newbie and it was a rite of passage. Yum as you can see. I asked the bartender, Amy, if she knew how to make one, she said yes and as you can see, voila. I showed her the card that I carry courtesy of you wonderful folks and she showed it to her fellow bartenders. They said that Disney forbids them from putting that many shots into one drink and there was a bit of an argument over to sprite or not to sprite. In the end, none of it mattered, as I drank, and it was good.
So we have a standard view room, just over but a little to the right of main entrance and it's not so bad. Pretty tree, good sized balcony, life does not suck. Kids just had some CL desserts and are headed down to SAB. I'm sipping something nice and planning rope drop. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!:
Awesome!!! Enjoy your trip!!

I've been out of the Disney loop for too long. There are so many new terms I need to understand - magicbands, fastpass+... I'm so pleased we finally have our next fix booked - even if it is over a year away

I'm here several times a day and I still don't understand magic bands, Fast Pass plus and My Disney Experience. Like you said, you have a year to learn and figure it out!

Here's a couple of pictures from one of my early morning strolls:

This display board was near the Solarium, in the hallway outside of the Marketplace. I haven't seen this before. Are these coloring pages kids did in the Sandcastle Club? Or can you request them from the front desk?
