CRT booked with the dining plan and canceling the plan

how will this work?

we have the dining plsn on our package but the more i do the math the dining plan costs much more money then it is by paying out of pocket.

we have a reservation for 12 at cinderellas table for dinner.

do i call and tell them..

how do i handle this

I would call on the phone and talk to a CM and have them take the dining plan off your reservation. They would probably be able to fix the CRT reservation either at that time or transfer you to the dining reservation line. If you are paying for CRT OOP they will charge your credit card at that time for the full amount of the meal. Good Luck

You may want to hold off on cancelling. Historically some weeks in early December ends up with free dining, they haven't offered it yet for December but usually offer it in July from what I've read (last year it was just for Disney Chase Card members), it may be worth waiting another month just to see if/what they end up offering... worst case scenario they don't offer it and you cancel next month instead of this month.

Last year, they opened free dining up to the general public for fall, not just Disney Visa card holders. When are you going?

I didn't notice that on Mousesavers, it was for everyone. I'm going on Dec. 1st so I'm cautiously optimistic, it's the week between Thanksgiving and Pop Warner, TouringPlans has it as one of the slowest weeks of the year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I got a PIN that offered me free dining the first two weeks of December....we're going that week but the high cost of the rooms made it still more cost effective for us to stay offsite and buy the meals we were already planning.

But my point is....it is likely that they will be offering the same thing from the PINs to Disney VISA and then the general public.

I wouldn't take that leap. They didn't follow that logic earlier this year at all.

This is correct . According to mousesavers, FD was offered to Visa card holders on 7/9/12, which then became available to the general public on 7/12/12 for select dates 9/30/12-12/13/12:

9/30/12-12/13/12 package deal (“free dining”) for Disney’s Visa cardholders 7/9/12, exp 9/29/12

9/30/12-12/13/12 package deal (“free dining”) for general public 7/12/12, exp 9/29/12

OP - If you do cancel the DDP, your cc will probably be charged at that time for CRT. Since you have to do a cc guarantee even when using the DDP, they will probably charge the card you left on file, unless you choose to use a different one.

I received a free December dining offer in June. We are staying at Poly 8 days 12/20-12/28 with free dining.

Just wait until you show up. They'll ask and you'll tell them no. They'll take your CC at the start of the meal. Same thing happens for those who book with a DP and choose to pay OOP for it. Nothing to worry about
