confused about Candlelight processional

I got 5pm ADR for chefs of France for Dec.6. My confusion is we were thinking about the 645. I didn't see where you could pick a show time. How does this work? Also do you think we will have enough time with a 5pm adr to go for 645 or should we do 8pm?

If it is anything like previous years, your show time is determined by your reservation time:

5:00 pm show = 2:30 - 2:30 pm lunch reservation
6:45 pm show = 3:30 - 4:15 pm dinner reservation
8:15 pm show = 4:20 - 5:45 pm dinner reservation

The exact cutoff times may be different for this year, but your 5p is far enough into the last grouping that it would be safe to bet on the 8p show.

They have not yet released bookings for the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Currently you have a regular 5:00 ADR, but historically you couldn't convert a regular booking to a CPDP res. On the day CPDP become available you will have to call and make a reservation specifically for CP and cancel your current Chefs res.

As the PP said, dining times are based on which performance you wish to attend.

Edited to add: I didn't realize they briefly released CP bookings this morning. However, if it follows last year's schedule, the 5PM res will be for the last performance.

The dates were inadvertently (?) released earlier today. Several people (including myself) were able to book packages online. I called the reservations line and my package was confirmed. My dinner time is 3:20, but she confirmed I had the 6:45 show.

So, OP, I am confused as well.

I was also able to book a 4:30 this morning before they closed the bookings. I didn't know it was a loophole.. I just saw people were able to book and went to get mine. My 4:30 reservation is showing in my reservations on the MDE site as a Candlelight Processional package for the 8:15 show.

With a 5pm ADR you'll be at the 8:15 show. If you want the 6:45 show book an ADR before 4:30, but not the lunch time ones (those get the 5pm show). Ours is for 4:30 and it's the 8:15 show.

There was a glitch in the system a couple of times this morning that allowed a lot of us to book our Candlelight Processional packages

thanks

Thank you for your responses. I was curious as to how the timing worked. I'm not too worried about changing our time since I looks like we will do the last show. I would prefer the 645 to make it easier for illuminations. How long is the show and will it interfere with illuminations?
Thanks for all your resposes

It's about 45 min long. It doesn't interfere with Illuminations at all

Packages have not been released yet, so pricing is not known. Here are last year's prices: http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/cand...al.htm#pricing

I wasn't sure if I was interested in the processional, but I now see it also guarantees a good viewing spot for illuminations. How does this all work? Are you seated at your restaurant or do you just get good seating in a certain area? Is that area the same for both events? Love to learn more!

The Processional is in the America Garden theater. The Illuminations viewing area is at Showcase Plaza, which is the area between the two stores at the entrance to WS from FW. It is a viewing area, so the are no seats. At the restaurant you are given a badge that gets you into the theater for the Processional, and into the Illuminations area.

There is more general info here (but disregard the dates/prices/narrators as that info is from 2011): http://www.easywdw.com/category/worth-2/candlelight/

And come join us on the CP watch thread on the Dining Reservation board!
