Navigating around the Fantasy

On our recent Fantasy cruise, we decided to get on the "Art of the Show" tour, a freebie that was on the last sea day. Too bad they didn't offer it earlier. It was all about some of the details of the ship, where some of the hidden Mickeys were, and some VERY useful information about getting around the ship that would have been nice to have known earlier (that is very subtle but informative). We toured a good hour or so.

So for getting around the ship, These 2 tips I knew already... The port side of the ship is the left and the staterooms have fish for the message hooks (all are 4 letters to make it easier). The right is Starboard and has Seahorses (all longer names).

Now the carpeting actually has some navigation in it! The 5-point stars on the carpet will point you towards the front of the boat! (the peak of the star points to the front). Also in the stairwells by the elevators, the carpet is a different color depending on where you are. The Red color at the front of the ship corresponds with the color of the Walt Disney Theater. The sea Green at Mid-ship corresponds to where the gangway normally is. The aft elevator lobby has a blue carpet (although the reason now escapes me... Maybe the adult pool?)
Also the carpet will occasionally have a globe with the 4 Disney ships represented as stars on the Globe in their "home" ports. If you are looking at the globe right side up, you're facing the front of the ship.
The flags around the globe are representative of the olden days, when they flew different flags to send messages, with each flag being a letter. The flags spell out Disney Fantasy.

Thought I'd share that tidbit.

The "Art of the Show" tour is a very nice tour. Very different than from the ones given on embarkation day, which are meant to give you an orientation of the ship.

One thing I remember from the Wonder one, was that when the Magic was built, two halfs were built and then they were soldered together. When the Wonder was built, it was built in one big piece, but to make it look like it's sister ship, a fake solder line was added. Easy to see on Deck 4, at the halfway mark.
