I'm sorry it took me a while to get back to your question. I answered this question in another thread so if you don't mind, I'll just cut and paste what to do. HTH!

It's a good idea to check LastMinuteTravel.com (LMT) for hotels. Their prices can be lower than other sites like Expedia, Hotels.com, Travelocity, etc. because many of the hotels are only listed as "3-star hotel in Disneyland Area/Anaheim", for those you're not *supposed* to know which hotel you're reserving. BUT! They are linked to Tripadvisor and if there's a hotel you are interested in, go to Tripadvisor and note the # of reviews that hotel has. Then go back to LMT and do a page search for that number. For example, the Fairfield Inn has 983 reviews on Tripadvisor. On LMT, I look up hotels in Anaheim CA and search the page for "983" (ctrl + f), and that takes me to a hotel option that has the same room pictures and rating histogram as Tripadvisor's Fairfield Inn. There, I found the Fairfield! Had I booked with Hotels.com or directly with the Fairfield, I would have paid $1209.84. Instead I paid $997.52 for the same type of room, saving $212.32. (note: today's rate on LMT is a little higher than when I reserved last month - just in case you were checking my cost!)

I just checked for the last week of August and didn't see an offer for the Fairfield. LMT has the FFI on other dates I just checked, like in 9/9 - 9/14 for $102/night.

I just checked the Fairfield on LMT too, and my dates are $102/night + $11/night parking, so $113/night, x 4 = $452 + tax = about $520.
Park tix separately through Ares are (4 day hoppers, 2A/1C) are $820. So I'm at roughly $1340 for a room, tickets and parking.

My package reservation through Costco is at $1448 total including taxes for same room, tickets and parking.

Initially that sounds like more, but Costco also includes a $20 Disney gift card (we'll blow through that in about 12 seconds) and premium character meal vouchers (which we plan to use at Blue Bayou or the WOC package at Wine Country Trattoria since we planned to dine at both of those either way) and they value $102 total for the 3 of us.

Including all of that, I am within $14 of LMT.

My point is to make sure you are comparing apples to apples when you look at the "deals", because with the different inclusions/exclusions and perks, they may not be as different as they appear.

Hey Neighbor! You will really like the FFI for outside hotels on Harbor Blvd. It's our favorite on the outside but you can't beat the Grand Californian if you stay onsite. Have a great trip!

Slightly off topic but still in the camp of Fairfield Inn and LMT... to those that have booked thru last minute travel, is there any other type of fees when booking thru this site other than tax? I know some of these places also charge a "resort" fee whatever that means. I wish everyone would just include it all in their price(parking, extra fees, ect.)

Taxes/fees on LMT covers taxes and resort fees, all fees that apply to each reservation. Parking fees and incidental fees vary by guest, depending on usage, so those are charged separately (upon checkout).

For example, FFI on LMT:
Room Cost: $871.92
Taxes/Fees: $151.76
Total: $1023.68

That's what you'd pay in total for your stay at the FFI if you took a shuttle to the hotel, didn't rent a car and need parking, and didn't charge anything to your room like PPV or long-distance calls. If you did need parking or want to pay for PPV, then you will be charged for those extras upon checkout. That's why they need your credit card upon check-in. For incidental expenses (like parking). I hope that makes sense.

I could be wrong, so I hope someone can confirm, but those are not character meal restaurants so the vouchers will not work there. You certainly should double check on this if you go this route.

Will definitely confirm, but I am under the impression from here on the boards that they are essentially TS vouchers and are accepted at most restaurants.

Here's the thread about the vouchers - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3125018 with a few people sharing how they had used the character breakfast vouchers for other meals.

FWIW we've have issues with the Fairfield the last 2 stays. last time there was no hot water for the first 2 days of our stay (june 2012) and the time before they screwed up my brother's reservation - he needed 2 connecting rooms & booked that for his family of 6 and they weren't able to accomodate that at first.

Stayed at FFI June 17th - 23rd. It was very nice. The rooms were neat and clean the bedding was comfy. The location is great. Mimi's in the parking lot and McD's next door. They have fresh water on tap in the lobby everyday. The only issue we had was flushing the toilets! Had to flush numerous times to get the paper to go down, which was just weird. (I think it is the toilet design) The water pressure for the showers was great.
The walk past the Best Western is pretty short all things considered!!
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Fairfield MANY years ago and didn't find it far at all. My sister was only 5 at the time and handled the walk just fine. Plus, I'm pretty sure you pass a little grocery store and McDonald's on the way plus are right next to Millie's.*

The dining vouchers specifically say you cannot use the premium meal vouchers gor WoC meals. However, you can use the regular character meal vouchers.
