Question Resturant Classifcations

It's been several years since our last trip to WDW. I don't understand what a Signature Restaurant is. We are planning to purchase the dining plus plan does that mean we can eat a "signature" restaurants?
Thanks in advance

They use up 2 of your table service credits. Sometimes it's not worth it to use up 2 credits so people will pay out of pocket for them.

Anyone can eat a Signature restaurant. On the Dining Plan (DDP) and Deluxe Dining Plan (DxDP), they cost 2TS credits per person. In general, the Signatures are supposed to be slightly fancier and more upscale than the 1TS venues. The pricing also tends to be higher. Most of the Signatures are located outside the parks, at the Deluxe resorts.
  • California Grill at CR
  • Narcoossees at GF
  • Citricos at GF
  • Artist Point at WL
  • Jiko at AKL
  • Yachtsman at YC
  • Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS
  • Monsieur Paul at Epcot
  • Le Cellier at Epcot
  • Fultons at DTD
  • Wolf Gang Puck Dining Room at DTD

There are also a few other 2TS meals. Those tend to be dinner shows or other dining experiences.
  • CRT at MK
  • HDDR at FW
  • Spirit of Aloha at Poly
  • Mickey's Backyard BBQ

You can find out how much each restaurants cost on the dining plan brochure (page 4):
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...2013Dining.pdf

You'll find all sorts of reviews here on the Disboard. Some folks love one place, while other loathe that same place. I'd take a look at the menus (Allears.net, wdwinfo.com both have menus) and see which ones look the most appealing to you.

Regarding the use of credits, it can be tough to make it economically worthwhile to use 2 credits at one meal. Your entree needs to be pretty pricey. For example, using the old DDP prices, you'll need each person's bill come to about $65 (pre-tax and pre-tip)*. With only an entree, standard drink, and a dessert, that can be pretty tough to do.

*[Math - in case you're interested]
Cost of DDP: $55.60 (let's round to $56.00)
Assumed Average QS Cost: $17.50
Assumed Average Snack Cost: $4
"Value" of TS Credit: $34.50
"Value" of 2 TS Credits: $69.00
Tax Rate: 6.5%
So, pre-tax Signature sub-total: 1.065x = $69 => x = $64.80 ($65)
Note: Dining plan prices have recently increased, but these calculations do not reflect that increase.
