Extra activities at Universal?

We are going to Orlando in August and we are doing Disney, Sea World and Universal. I have found loads of extra things to do at Disney (BBB, tea parties, cruise) and Sea World(behind the scenes tours, Mammal Keeper Experience) but I haven't been able to find much at a Universal.

Any suggestions on fun extras to do with a 10 yr old boy and an 8 yr old girl?

We saw the Blue Man Group a few weeks ago. The kids (ages 9, 10, 11, 12) all enjoyed it. We will definitely see them again.

There are also a couple of new miniature golf parks that are supposed to be cool.

It only costs the price of a meal, but eating at Mythos and the Three Broomsticks are cool because of the surroundings.

Then there is the Mystic Fountain- entertaining and free.

The Jurassic Park play area is also great- and free.

There is face painting somewhere, just not sure where.

Don't know of any tours though-never got into that kind of thing. Maybe someone else will know.

One thing that is really cool is to stop and watch the myriad of street performers in Universal. Some are scheduled and some "just happen". Grab a schedule at the gate but keep aware unscheduled performances.

The Mystic Fountain is located in The Lost Continent section...right in front of the Sinbad show entrance.

The character interactions and short shows are much more one-on-one than Disney and occur everywhere. Lately, I have been enjoying the costumed characters, drum band and Lolipop girls show near Mel's in the mornings.

We did the Mini golf at City Walk in May and loved it. Try it at night when it's cool outside.

I could sit for hours......if I was allowed just watching that fountain........it`s so much fun. I sat so long watching last year my bottom was very numb from sitting on the rock to the side of it!!!

Minigolf at Universal is a really good one, both sides are fun, and yes at night is better.

Are you staying onsite? If so they have dive-in movies by the pool which are fun.

Character interaction in the parks are fantastic too. We were constantly running into different characters last year. They spend a lot of individual time with you so you don`t feel rushed with them.

Character meals in the hotels on different nights, you can eat in any hotels without being a resident. And again they do spend a lot of time with you

they have the listing on the UO website.
one night at pbh and hrh.
two nights at rph.

usually the characters are out between 5-7.

depending on when you will be onsite for your vacation, the schedule could change.
but, you can go to any of the hotels for the character dining.
