Port Orleans Carriage Driver Tipping?

I hope that this is in the right forum..

We are staying at POR and have booked a carriage ride for one of our nights. I'm trying to figure out how much money to allocate for tipping. How much is the typical amount to tip the carriage driver?

TIA

We did the carriage ride 2 weeks ago and there is actually a sign that says no tipping is allowed. It felt odd not tipping but there is a sign where you sit that says it.

Thank you for the info. I would have assumed there would be a tip. That is strange

We did tip in April when we went. Can't remember how much but our driver was amazing. We did the POFQ route since we were staying at POR.

We took a carriage ride there in 2008 and the driver refused....said they weren't allowed to accept tips. I persisted, and he said he could lose his job, as much as he wished he could've accepted it.

We were there in December and were able to walk right up without a reservation. I don't think you will have a problem booking for the date you want. Happy anniversary!
I also asked about tipping and was told it wasn't allowed.

Thank you so much. I think I might hold off and see what we can get without a reservation. I hate being in a time crunch because I know we would do it after dinner. thanks about the tip thing--wouldn't want any of them to lose their job.

Disney has the rule of three when it comes to gifts from a guest. They have to say no three times and then can except if they want to. Most guest never get past number one or two lol

I have had heard of it when guests have tried to tip front desk CMs. I think the bigger place it happens is if you stay club level. Concierge helps guests so much that I've read when guests have tried to say thank you with a monetary gift, they have to say no 3 times. After that I guess they can take it but it goes into a jar for all the CMs...

I took a carriage ride in Dec 09

I also saw the sign about no tipping and I felt really strange to not tip but I followed the rule and didn't. I did thank him a number times though! lol

I'm thinking about taking a carriage ride at the Wilderness campground.
Does anyone know about tipping then?

I didn't make a reservation the carriage was just sitting there so we rode one night after getting back from a park. It was a great way to end the night.
