Tell me about your work bag

What type and brand do you use?

What do you keep in it?

Do you carry a separate lunch bag?

Just curious - for the first time in years, I'm thinking of giving mine an overhaul. Mine weighs a ton and it's killing my shoulder!

Mines a disaster! I have a nice litte drawstring bag. Currently theres:
3 books (to go back to the lending libary)
2 pens
a notebook (mini sized)
a paperback
a reading light (for nap time)
fish food
my purse(which is like 50 pounds)
keys
various buiness cards
a bag of medicine
a bottle of advil
half a water bottle of coffee
two sweaters
6 rocks
deck of cards
bus pass
and of course 50 cents!

Im thinking of downgrading to a tote bag with a zipper and letting my kids (im a teacher) decorate it with hand prints for me. ive awalys wanted a hand print tote since I started teaching. I dont carry a lunch most days but when I do its clipped to my bag since my bag is sorta small.

Work the overnight and rarely eat anything during my shift so I carry
a small WDW duffle bag, probably the smallest ever made

( DL and other ID in a lanyard around my neck or in a pocket)

Reading glasses, pens, sm notepad Clorox wipes, sm bottle hand sanitizer a paperback book or magazine ( for the rare down time ) cell phone & charger, keys

That's all I need plus I carry in hand either a Tervis type cup or a thermos LOVE my coffee

Pea, after a surgery (forget which one) my doctor warned me off leather bags. He said they were simply too heavy... maybe he had a clue that I carry a ton of papers back and forth to school???

Both my school bookbag and my purse are Vera Bradley-- I just ordered a new one of each on sale. ( Vera tote in Portobello Road &100 Handbag in Safari Sunset )

My bookbag always feels as though it weighs as much as some of the high school kids I teach..My purse contains a lot less: wristlet with phone, reading glasses, a zillion pens and pencils (occupational hazard) lip gloss and whatever papers are so urgent I have to deal with them right away.

I am a nurse, I work overnights, I carry everything. I use a bag I got at Disney. It's black, says WDW and other than that its pretty pain. In it:

Bath and body works and sanitizer
Snacks
Extra scrubs/clothes
Extra stethoscope
Tylenol, tums, Claritin
Makeup bag
Hairbrush
Deodorant

I'm sure there is more it is pretty heavy.

I carry a 99cent canvas bag I got at the Christmas Tree Shop. I have:
medication, my daily newspaper, my lunch (I keep my insulated lunch bag in the fridge at work), hair brush, makeup bag, hair styling products, self-tanning wipes. I mostly get ready for work AT work so....that explains that!
I carry my purse separately.

I work in retail, so my bag has to be clear. Let me tell you, no clear bag ever was meant to be used daily and thus I go through bags about teice a year.

I'm currently using a small-ish TSA approved bag (it came with little toiletry tubes, ha) from Target. Its teal trimmed and has a handle.

It currently has:
- A PocketBac from B&BW on the handle
-A VB ClipZip ID case
-Hand lotion
-Lip balm
-Extra hair ties & barrettes
-Couple Sharpies
-Highlighter
-Various Pens
-Couple band aids
-Mini emery boards
-Crystal Light Energy packets
-Charging phone case
-Pill case with ibuprofen and allergy mess
-Gum

Think thats about it, since I recently decluttered it of unnecessary papers. I do take a lunch sack with me, too, one of the roll top kind from Target.

You guys carry some interesting things!

I carry a lot of project work and heavy things nurses use. I have got to start using my locker and locked cabinet more - they're just a bit out of the way which is why I liked to keep things with me.

I always used a canvas briefcase style but it seems those have changed a lot. Not sure if I want to go with another one of those, or a tote style. It does have to close. I do carry a separate lunch bag but it's light and not a problem.

I needed a new bag (keep lap top, files, pens, comb, etc. in it), but the nice leather bags were out of my price range. I wanted to get something a little different, so I got a seat belt bag (made out of imperfect seat belts). It's unlike other bags and it's not too heavy.
