I was just on the phone for 1 hour and 54 minutes to book a small cabana. Then the lady tells me it's available, ready to book.... but apparently we have one too many people! Me & DH, grandma, grandpa & 3 little kids. I just wanted some shade for my little blonde kids and a place for grandma & grandpa to relax. I'm so, so, so, bummed. Not to mention I just wasted 2 hours of my life.

Ugh, that's horrible!! That doesn't seem like too many people to me. Too bad the CM didn't ask how many people and tell you the limit to begin with!!

The limit is 6 people. We have 4 adults and 3 little kids. She did ask me right after verifying our confirmation #, home address, blah blah blah, but the hold time to get to a recreation CM was almost 2 hours!! I wanted to cry. She wasn't even nice about it.

I would have just told them you had the 5 of you and then just have the grand parents come visit you at the cabana. They don't check people. We had some ex cast members come and hang out with us part of the day.

Really?? It might be worth the 2 hours on hold if that would work. I had considered booking it for 6 of us and not giving our 5 year old a wristband. I thought maybe the CM would take pity on the poor little thing and let her come in with us.

My kids don't even drink soda and we'll all have mugs, so it's not like they'll lose money on us that way. Probably would sell a few more adult beverages if we were in a cabana, in fact.

Maybe I'll book for my kids and husband and my inlaws, but leave me out. I won't mind if they don't let me in. I can find a seat by the pool. I'm booking it for them anyway (kids for shade, grandparents for comfy seats, and husband for possible football game viewing on tv. And because I know he's always dreamed of getting a cabana somewhere. )

On our pool day we have breakfast reservations at kona...would we be inappropriate if girls in suits with cover ups and boys in trunks with tee shirt?

First visit to poly

I personally wouldn't wear swim suits to Kona - it's a nice sit down restaurant (it's not super fancy, but not so casual that I would wear swim suits & cover-ups)

I have to agree with you. Swim suits and cover ups are fine for Capt. Coos but I would not wear them to Kona.

Our family is staying in 3 rooms at the Poly from 11/14-11/22. I did a lot of research, but still have a few questions!

1) My mom will be renting a scooter and wants to request the Fiji Longhouse for the view of the marina. Does the boat for the MK load close to Figi? How long would it take if she gets on the Monorail at the GCH and takes it to the TTC to go places?

2) We booked with AAA (which I would never do again). Is it best for the AAA agent to enter the room requests or is there a way I could call and do it myself so I know it's done? Any advice appreciated since my Mom really wants Fiji.

3) We also would like to request the other 2 rooms in Samoa to be close to the pool. One room with a 4 year old and one with a 2 year old. Is it better to be on the 1st or 3rd floor with smaller kids? Do the balcony/patio rooms all have a stick to put in the slider door so we don't have to worry about the kids opening the door at night?

4) Are you allowed to have items stored a day or two in advance from Garden Grocer? Do they store it for you and then when you check in, you carry all the items to the room?

Thanks!
