Listening to other people give Disney advice...

Makes me crazy! Just yesterday I was listening to someone tell a friend of mine:

"If you go back more than three times they will give you free dining for your fourth trip"

"Chef Mickey's is the best place on property to eat. The best part is that it's right in the Magic Kingdom near the castle"

You definitely need to get tickets to MNSSHP. They only let 200 people into the park, so you have the whole park to yourself"

I mean where to these people get is stuff???

I spent the next hour correcting everything she told her.... Lol.

Everyone likes to be the person that everyone goes to for advice about WDW. This person might have been trying too hard, or they might have been misinformed themselves. I take any and all advice with a grain of salt. When I first started going to Disney I relied on books to give me correct information. Now 26, soon to be 27 trips later I've learned to tailor my plans to how it works for me and my family. I've learned tons of things from several books, but learning tips and tricks and which restaurants that I like was from trial and error.

All you can do is give them correct information and hope they take it. Direct them here to the DIS, they'll become Disney experts in no time.

We were at Downtown Disney getting off the boat from POFQ when we heard a woman tell her husband, "No, those boats don't go to Epcot, they only go to the Studios. We'll have to take a bus."

My DD turned to me and said, "They're going to be waiting a long time for that bus!" Let alone if they decide to try for the Studios instead.

If they only allowed 250 people, at $50 a ticket, that's only $12,500. I can't imagine that would be enough money to staff the park for the night... let alone pay for all the other operations. That number sounds way too low.

Drives me crazy!! In the parks I overhear a lot of incorrect info. Sometimes I have to jump in and help. Recently we were at Downtown Disney and a family was looking for the castle! Good grief.

A neighbor recently told me they were gonna go at spring break because it's not busy then (our break falls with Easter).

Another neighbor wants to stay at Art of Animation in a family suite with get this - her family of 5, her parents, and her adult sister. So 5 adults and 3 kids. Now I know those rooms are big but yikes talk about crowded.

well back then, the party's were more exclusive and tickets were very limited.. with the popularity through the years, it's capacity has increased.

with that also, parks open to the event attendees alot earlier too.. i saw 4:30 somewhere? back then it was either 7 or 7:30 i don't quite remember..

Well after my SIL came back from Disney the first time, she felt she was now an expert and knew all there was to know that she felt to give me advice although I have been there 10+ times and did the planning for their trip! I know she had good intentions but I know what some great places to eat cause I made your ressies.

Never 250, but a lot less in past years than they allow now.

I just remember every ride a walk on(well back then it was only certain rides open), and the parade route practically empty withyour choice of spots. the park was practically empty.

I know it may be annoying people thinking the know it all or providing wrong information, but I try to embrace that they are just so excited about Disney -- like me! I like others to join in on the fun, even if they're just trying so hard.
