In need of a dessert

We have a family reunion on Saturday and I have to bring a dessert. I have no clue what to make. Does someone have a recipe for something easy and really good?

We were just told in our invitation to bring our favorite family dessert. We don't have one.

Inside or out?

Trifle presents really well, but needs to stay cool: Chocolate Trifle

Or, for kid friendly finger food: Caramel Rice Krispy Treats

If you're looking for "snacky" desserts:
Puppy Chow
Caramel Corn

Cookies, brownies, tubs of ice cream and the toppings for sundaes?? These would be soooo easy and enjoyed by most everyone.

What sort of dessert does your family like? Cookies, cupcakes, and brownies/blondies are better suited for each person to take one and not necessarily sit down and use a plate and fork, while cakes, pies, puddings, etc. require silverware and are better suited for "sit and eat" events.

Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups

This is what my mom makes but everyone thinks they're brownies.
You really have to wait till they cool down to cut them, but they are rich so you can make tiny squares. Of course you can omit the nuts.

When I saw the title "In need of dessert" I thought I found someone like me, who has that exact phrase run through their head about 3,872,131 times a day

Sorry, I know that's no help, but now I really want dessert!

My number one dessert that is always a hit..Ice-Cream-Sandwich-Cake.
Super simple to make and it is always a winner. If you freeze it before and let it sit and thaw when you get to where you are going, it comes out really soft and perfect, and I have never had one melt, before it gets ate.

ice cream sandwiches
about 1 cup of chocolate sauce
1 cup chopped almonds
1 8 oz. container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Line a 9-inch square baking dish with ice cream sandwiches in a single layer. YOu may have to cut the sandwiches to make them fit.

Drizzle chocolate sauce over the sandwiches. Spread it out with a spatula to form an even layer.

Now sprinkle one third of the almonds over the chocolate sauce. And top with half of the thawed whipped topping.

Repeat the layers, ending with the whipped topping and crushed almonds or sprinkles.

Cover, and freeze for two hours or until firm. Cut into pieces to serve.

I love to make this fruit pizza for summer parties:

http://www.marzettikitchens.com/kitc...65/fruit-pizza

It's super easy! And you can add all sorts of fresh fruit and make a beautiful design on top--think different colors like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, canned mandarin oranges, red grapes cut in half, etc. Just makes a nice presentation and it's yummy, too!

For a fast and simple dessert, DW makes an Angel Lush Cake. It's an angel food cake with a vanilla pudding/pineapple filling topped with fresh berries.

It's really simple to make and always a hit.

Here is the RECIPE.

Sometimes she'll make extra filling and also use it as a frosting. Or she'll use whipped topping as a frosting as well, before adding the berries.

Bake or buy some brownies, some cool whip and strawberries, blueberries, etc. Any berries you want.
Get a big bowl
Combine everything

Eat.
