Prepaid dining

I wish more places would have this option. Besides CRT, SOA, HDDR, MBYB...anything else offer this option? IMO, all of the buffets should offer the option to prepay.

I think that takes a lot of flexibility out of the vacation. I don't make a lot of dining reservations because I don't know where I'll be at any given time. I also don't know if I'm going to be hungry during the time I have a seating. And with prepayment, you do get penalized if you don't cancel in a certain amount of time. When I vacation, the last thing I want to be doing to worrying myself about making a meal - especially when there are tons of choices where I don't have to commit myself to a certain time and place.

I agree! With 2 little ones I know when I have to eat dinner every night or they get umbearable! I do wish I could prepay some buffets for us and then have no worries when we get there. Like the DDP, but then I could use those credits for some signature dinners

Buy Disney gift cards (or prepaid Visa card, etc) ahead of time

If you buy the Disney ones at Target (pronounced tar-jay) and use the red card you can get 5-10% off

1) But, isn't that rude to other guests?
2) Especially to those who wanted the ressie?
3) But, couldn't get it because you reserved the time.
4) Then you decides not to use the ressie.

IMHO: If you don't know you want to eat then,
or will be hungry by then, don't make the ADR. Let
someone who really wants to eat at that time get
the ADR.

That person specifically said "I don't make a lot of reservations".... so no need for a lecture

Prepaid dining = Disney Dining Plan.

Pay for a set number of meals before you arrive. Includes buffets.

But for those of us who need to stay offsite, DDP isn't an option.

I agree with OP. We have already paid for HDDR, would be nice to pay for another meal or two. We also have gift cards and will use those, but having the option to pay for the meal ahead of time would be nice.

Which is why I said I don't make a lot of dining reservations! If I have one, I make damn well sure I am there at the appointed time which takes the flexibility out of the trip. I NEVER make a reservation I know I won't use. Jeez - get grumpy much?

1) That was not a criticism of YOU.
2) It was a statement against making ressies and not keeping them.
3) I realized that you don't like to make ressies.
4) If taken as an affront, please forgive me.

DDP is just not worth it for my family. I like the convenience of it, but we don't eat desert at every meal, my kids sometimes will order off the adult menu....so it just does not work for us. The better discount for us is TIW.

It would just be nice for meal that are buffet or family style to have the option to prepay. Impossible for a menu type place, but doable for Ohana, Boma and the like.

We all vacation differently. Our family likes a TS daily. So...I have no problems making ADR's. Making an ADR is also something I don't want to spend time on while already there. We have our favorites and book them every trip.
