Hyatt at MCO

OK, I know there is a way and I tried to search but couldnt find my exact answer or the threads were very old.

So.... How is it that you can get a discount for the Hyatt at the Orlando International Airport?

Our super cheap Southwest flight ($49) arrives at 1050 pm and I thought it might be better to just stay at the airport that night. But I would like to compare rates for the Hyatt and the room only discount for fall or the possibility of an AP room only discount. So walk me through the Hyatt process. Thanks.

Buy a Hyatt stay certificate (certificates.hyatt.com) for $152 and call the 800 number for Hyatt and reserve your room with it. You have to prepay for the cert. but it doesn't expire and your ressie can be cancelled up to, I think, the day before. I just got mine for my trip in November.

If you happen to be eligible for a Government rate (Fed Gov't, State Gov't, military), you can get a room for $97.50 most nights.

AAA also provides a slight 10% discount.

Thanks for the replies.

I also thought there was a way to bid on hotwire or priceline.

At $152 a night, I can get a better rate with the fall room only discount. It makes that first night about its $241 for Sept 19 and Sept 20 at Pop in a preferred room.

If you do a google search you might be able to find a code for free membership at Last Minute Travel Club. They seem to offer the Hyatt at MCO for ~$120-130 depending on how far in advance you are booking. Even for a bit more $$ I think that the convenience of staying at the Hyatt is well worth it for your late arrival.

I don't think that I have ever seen a hotel that is physically attached to an airport available on priceline or hotwire, only hotels that require a shuttle. Hotels attached to airports know that they can charge a premium for the convenience that they provide.

I have seen Hyatt MCO come up on Hotwire within the last year, but it was very close to sail date and after adding in the Hotwire fees it was not much of savings over the rack rate.

I joined the Last Minute Travel Club for free using the code MAYNOJ. The e-mail said to share the code with friends and family, so feel free to use it! We're flying in to MCO on 8/31 for the 9/1 sailing on the Dream. The best rate I had been able to get previously was $143.10 + tax through Costco (not pre-paid). With LMT Club, I was able to get $108 + tax for a total of $125.96. Our flight gets in just after 8:00 p.m., so convenience was a big factor for us when deciding where to stay.

As someone said above. Use the stay Certs. Saves a lot of $$. We use the Certs every time.

Looks like they take the Classic Certs now. I believe it was on the Choice Certs before. Classic Certs are $109 tax included.

Do they not make you show official travel documents for government rate?

Yes, you have to show proof (I'm a federal govt' employee) and I have to show my credentials. The AAA was $143 as of this morning.

There are a few hotels close by for under $100. But you're getting in late (as am I) so I'm sure you would rather pay a little extra for less stress.

Good luck. Happy sailing

No, you don't need to be traveling on orders. You can use the rate for leisure travel. Just have to show a valid Government ID that identifies you as an employee (state or fed). We are doing this in the summer and I called and asked if travel orders were necessary. They are not.

Best way to book that exact hotel go on priceline select the express hotel search(it doesn't show hotel names until after booking), narrow the search to MCO and surronding areas. Search for the option that is 3.5 stars with a guest rating of 9/10 and trip advisor rating of 4 or 4.5 out of 5. It should have logos to bottom for business center, restaurant, high speed internet. This option is the Hyatt Regancy at inside the airport. Depending on date I've done it for $58 up to $110 w/ tax. On hotwire it is MCO area option with 95% customer satifaction and they rate it as 4 star not 3.5

If you have a certificate room reserved, then you just use the certificate. Call the hotel to make sure they have a certificate room available. If they do, then the certificate covers the room and the taxes.
