Question Passholder/Cruise

Does anyone know if annual passholders get a discount on Disney cruises?

I'm guessing DCL thinks either

1) they are serving the vast majority of AP holders with the Florida resident rates (and as a former AP holder who does not and has not ever lived in Florida I realize there are a lot of people this misses as well) or

2) that they don't really need give AP holders discounts in order to get them to do a Disney cruise because they've already bought into the Disney brand. Taking the fan base for granted and all that.

Depends on how cynical you want to be.

Actually, I think they are missing out on a good amount of business by neglecting the West Coast. There are one million plus Disneyland passholders here, which I believe is quite a bit more than FL APs. And I think many of the CA APs may be balking at the idea (meaning cost) of flying to FL for a cruise, but might consider it if they were "shown the love" in the way of AP discounts (especially since no resident discounts apply here either).

But given that DCL had a ship here for two years and never once advertised it to the West coast (and then wondered why they couldn't fill the ship), it doesn't surprise me. There should have at least been signs up all over Disneyland when the Wonder was here...advertising those cruises. But what did we see? The Dream out of FL. Not a single sign, email, AP newsletter article about the Wonder being on the West Coast.

I think they are just doing the same old, same old that worked for two ships, but it doesn't work for four. They need to step up their game in the New Business Department

Are you sure you get the discount there? I didn't think you did, although my daughter's pass expired a week before our cruise so we didn't get to test it out.

The discount in the shops on the ship is 10% for Gold and Platinum CC members only. AP holders aren't recognized on the ship.....

I totally agree. I think there are a lot of AP holders who would do the land/sea vacations if they could catch a break from DCL.

Oops, I committed Disney's sin of forgetting about CA. It's inexplicable that they didn't advertise more to the West Coasters when the Wonder was there.
