I tried to get the AP rate for a Standard BWI room from 12/7 - 12/10, but all I get is a blank screen which is what I got last night when I was checking rates for another resort. It's not your computer, it's Mickey's.

We said we'd probably do the same again next year on the last night.

Next year will probably be December for us instead of November, so it'll be full holiday mode when we're here. But that will mean 13 months instead of 12. Booooo again!

Not a picture of pizza.
Hope you have a safe trip and it's good to hear you had a nice in-room dining experience. It probably made for a stress-free evening. Those 13 months will fly by, and knowing you, it might not even end up 13 months

I can't wait to come home to BWV and AKV in May! We will be celebrating my college graduation and will be our last opportunity to go during the non-peak time as I will be starting my first year as a high school Spanish teacher in August. A big year ahead for us!
¡Enhorabuena!

What a very exciting trip for you and DH. I'll add you to our BoardWalk Bulletin.

I get that "page cannot be displayed" error frequently for all resorts when checking AP rates. I go back in thru "Edit My Info" then "Passholder Affiliation" and then it works. It is showing no availability at BWI for those dates, sorry! We're going 12/6-10 & had a heck of a time finding availability with discounts.

Yesterday I booked BWI for a long weekend 5/2/14-5/5/14. This is a mother/daughter weekend and will give my mom a chance to experience WDW for the first time (she is 68).

Thanks for checking! It is so weird that it only happens at a couple of resorts.

Thanks for the info. I figured there would be no availability. Right now we have one night at BWV then two nights at BWI. And yes, the resort availability during these dates was crazy. There were barely any resorts available. I am worried about the crowds

Me too! I ended up booking thru the CM discount & even that was sparse. The CM I booked through said there is usually much more availability than what he saw for those dates.

We ended up at Kidani 1BR (after starting at OKW1BR, then SSR 2BR, then AKV Jambo 1BR.....). Friends are staying at BWI that weekend for a wedding, so at least I'll get over to visit my beloved BW for this trip!

.
Well, it's 13 months until the next Boardwalk trip. We have AKL and the Fantasy before then. Plus maybe Disneyland or another unscheduled July 4th trip.

Villas still have the 12 cup basket filter coffee pots. The Inn side has the pods.

From AllEars:

Starting November 24, the Lobby Concierge Desk at the BoardWalk Resort will be open until 11 p.m. to assist late-night guests.

The pastry chefs have once again created beautiful gingerbread houses at some Disney World resorts. The Disney's BoardWalk is unveiling a new gingerbread creation featuring Mickey and Minnie; the corresponding holiday pin will debut on November 29. Stop by the BoardWalk on November 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. to talk to pastry chef Matt Avery. The 2013 Limited Edition gingerbread house pins are already on sale at the Contemporary, Beach Club, and Grand Floridian resorts.

yay! Just booked a standard room for March 1-8. We've never stayed at BWI.

I have a question though, maybe y'all can help me with - Should I get the counter service plan or the dining plan? I feel like, at BWI, with the Boardwalk and World Showcase so close, we'd do better with the CS plan so that we can roam around and have more fast options, split meals from multiple countries, etc. Does that make sense?

Usually we go the week before thanksgiving so we catch the gingerbread house at the end of our trip. Because of the late TG this year, we went a week earlier and missed it. D'oh!

Hard to say what's best for your style. What you propose sounds good. However, there are also a lot of 1 credit table service restaurants around world showcase, plus Kouzzina at BW and Cape May at the BC. So either one might work!
