I have a close friend living with Lupus. She does quite well.

They have delayed my orders which means, we will have to figure out where we are living while we wait. Plus our son is getting ready to graduate and is headed to college down south in Aug. So much going on. We had been planning this trip for the last year and had finally made all reservations. We had everything planned down to the last detail. We're trying to keep a positive attitude, but I'll be honest, it's hard. I have no idea what will come of all of this, but in the mean time we will continue reading on the DIS and living through your trips.
Hang in there...my adult niece has lived with lupus for a very long time & while some days are better than others, she'd be the first one to tell you to keep your chin up. She loves Disney and goes every year....she just tours a little differently & takes more breaks. Sending along hugs.n

So you are wise to cancel this trip and go when you are better and stronger.

I just can't give you enough (((HUGS)))) as I just went into a lurking mode here on the DIS when I wasn't going and got some joy out of others planning their trips and even starting buying disney purses and other stuff just to get me through my sugeries etc.

I have been declared cancer-free, but I hate it when they do that. I know I have to keep going back and getting tested and I know sooner or later it might show up somewhere else like it has for the last 8 years. But, meanwhile, I keep on trucking with a smile and planning trips! Even if I don;t end up taking them!

There is alot of folks here to give you the support you need. I'm glad your reaching out!
God Bless you and your family!
GOD bless you!!!

Thank you everyone for your very kind words of hope. Today I have an EKG on my heart and an ultrasound of my neck. Praying all goes well. For now I will be taking each day as it comes and what may come with it. We will get to Disney, it will just be delayed. For now we will just live through all of you!

Remember that Disney will still be there when you are ready! Try not to put too much pressure on yourself with all that you have to deal with now. It's hard to be patient, but when the moment is right you will be able to go!!

Good luck with everything that you have to deal with now. Just take things one step at a time and soon all the trouble will be behind you and the coast will be clear!

Much peace and love,

~NM

I can relate. We had to cancel our Jan trip this year due to shoulder surgery (and $3,000 deductible). Very disappointing. Hoping to reschedule for next winter.
Hope you feel better soon and get to start planning your next trip!

Hi everyone. I wanted to let everyone know my updated information. So much has changed over the last couple of weeks! My doctor up here that diagnosed me with systemic lupus sent me to a specialist over 2 1/2 hours away. They were able to get me in right away which was a blessing. After going through all of the tests that were done, and checking me over, the specialist said I do NOT have Lupus! I do still have hypothyroidism and this new specialist says that I have arthritis pretty much all over. They are still working out my doses for my meds and I am still dealing with the side affects of my meds. It has been a long road the last few weeks mentally and physically to say the least. During the last few weeks, we have gotten through our DS graduation, packing up the house and dealing with orders. My original orders since first writing this have been canceled. They do not feel that physically I can do that job. However, the same day my orders were canceled I received new orders t that very same base. For us this was great news because it means we will be within 6 hours to where our son will be going to college. Our journey the last few weeks has been really hard on all of us. Having so many unanswered questions was very scary. Now that we have a new game plan, we plan to be able to take our anniversary trip! I have to say this made our family appreciate life a little bit more than before! We intend to live life to the fullest! Again, thank you for all of the kind words of encouragement.
